What no mining sites that cooperate with joincoin still active

There is a mining pool http://coinspool.cu.cc/info_joincoin-pentablake still online, showing updated block heights but no evidence of miner presence even for other cryptos.  Cheesy

The website www.joincoin.org is up and ready.

We have a survey to decide the future of the Joincoin.

1) Initiate POS phase now.
2) POW + POS now
3) Continue with POW multi-algorythm

Please, all the community should vote this survey to improve and then, You can talk here anything.

Thanks a lot.

A lot of coins begin phases with a mixed system. You can read more about POS and POW at:

Just checking this coin out today.

I DL wallet, let it update, then configured scrypt asic miners for solo, and it worked first attempt. Hashing right now solo.

What algo are you using?

Note: of course I needed to create a conf file in the apps data folder Smiley

Hi guys!

Have anyone compiled the source from github? I'm getting an error in Ubuntu:

tor/compat_libevent.h:18:25: fatal error: event2/util.h: No such file or directory
 #include <event2/util.h>

Do I need to install Tor first?

Thanks in advance, have a great day

The Google tried to look?
You need libevent

Thanks a lot! That worked!  Cheers

I can help you to restore/recover your wallet or password.

................................
Hi, guys and gals,

I think we should

1) Iinitiate POS ASAP
2) Both POS & POW should have halving of rewards at least yearly; for POS probably until it reaches 1% yearly
3) POW should be the same- halving ASAP - if possible at around block 200,000 or around block 266, 166 (when total reach 2 million Joincoins)
4) Unless POW rewards drop significantly or much faster, the weight of newly mined Joincoins from POS (vs coins mined through POW) would be still relatively quite low and not effective. Unless you are comfortable with block rewards dropping to such as 0.5, 0.25, 0.125, 0.0625/block  (or maybe 0.64, 0.32, 0.16, 0.08, 0.04, 0.02, 0.01/block, etc.), I am not sure what to do after dropping to 1 J/block on a next new schedule.

The halving of rewards should occur around every 2-3 months-otherwise, the weight of POW would be still about 5x of POS rewards. The lower Joincoin rewards of, say 0.01 J/block would still be as profitable as what we have now if popularity and value of Joincoins would most likely rise by the time 1-2 years later.) If nobody likes rewards lower than 0.5 or 0.1J/block, we might as well discontinue POW in a few months after dropping to a new halved reward schedule of 1 Joincoin/block.

Again, just a thought.

Happy mining Joincoin (J) Cheesy

Let's get the Joincoin (J) Alteration schedules determined and completed.  And are we going to have more necessary features after that ?   Roll Eyes

I agree with POS phase, Proof of Stake could be better for this coin, we could gain more investors and more money holders.

Price go up for this, to the moon, no dumps. More buyers than sellers

why are you changing anything at all? price is going up very well. pos is not needed.

As a matter of facts. Any mining schedules should be fine or the same and a crypto might not be mineable. A non-mineable crypto is usually built by an already established company/entity on a platform with plans.

Joincoin (J) as a community-based crypto needs further plans for its well-being. It is facing a fixed prolonged 2 Joincoins/block for the rest of about one year without further plans beyound.

(Some of the discussion here would address the issues of maintaining the network securely. https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/bitcoins-future-proof-of-stake-vs-proof-of-work/)

A plan that helps with the long-term stability and security and promoting growth would help everybody.

Besides, after setting up the plans any wallet features could be subsequently introduced without having to change it again.

A good mining schedule would prevent unnecessary price stagnation or uncontrolled-or-even-unintended pump-and-dump which happened too frequently.

A crypto should exist and function even if there are any unforeseen future circumstances or there could be major changes or drop-out of stake-owners which could happen. The blockchains should keep on running securely.

Therefore, it is important that we should give good considerations for probable changes at this moment.  Cheesy

Again, it is true that the Joincoin blockchains have been advancing along well all the time and even better every day.

Any change would be minimal until it is necessary.

It is true that the Joincoin (J) is doing well and the price is good.
Thanks a lot for all the supports from the community.

But as I have been saying all along, a gigantic leap in Joincoin popularity and value would certainly happen (; to date, it has been true,) especially after helpful changes of Joincoin mining schedules and subsequent additions of necessary (wallet, market platforms & exchanges) features.

I am sure that the Joincoin is here to stay and prosper.  Cheesy
