- ADD SCRYPT-CHACHA -

I suggest scrypt-chacha at a fixed high n-factor!

eg. n-factor of 15.
Above 15 cpu code will dominate again!
You can read about the reasons behind that in the ultracoin thread.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

So why again scrypt-chacha at n-factor 15?

This algo favors (or lets rather say provides the opportunity) to mine with lower end gpus.

- Buy it in Bittrex: https://bittrex.com/Market/Index?MarketName=BTC-J
- or Mine it: Multi algorythm mining, (cpu, gpu x11, scrypt, asic sha256), sha256 pool, directly solo mining... you decide.
Support to config in ANN of Joincoin. There are Joincoins (J) to mine yet.

At least a couple of major Cryptos are using this algo using n-factor of 16 or 17. They are talking about going back to n-factor of 15.

Will add it to the up-coming POW/POS wallet upgrade as long as it can be seamlessly integrated without causing a delay in the implementation.  Cheesy

are you the dev?

After update will coin cap be higher?

I and ernesthor are the ones on the present dev team.

The initial dev Love_of_Algo disappeared and never showed up again or returned my pm.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Our works are to keep the Joincoin going forward and prosperous.

By maintaining the mining and trading and value of Joincoin so that it will have a strong foothold in the cryptos world, and to do even better from here:

We are #1  @multifaucet give-away site since inception in Feb 2015. We have several blockchain explorers running.

Therefore, the next step would be the transition to POS/POW; after that more extensive activities such as joining more exchanges/merchants site/others platforms would be practical without need(s) for notifying them about the change(s).

The POW/POS transition would be to keep both in the end after about the 2-3 month transitional period.

If probable, the transition would be at block 266,201 (Total 2 million joincoin) or even earlier at block 250,001, i.e., 7-8 weeks from now.

The transition would end when additional 4 million Joincoins are created. After that, a relatively constant POW block reward and POS% will be set from there. In order for POS to be significant and for the POW block rewards not to be too small, the combined
annual % of both POW/POS has to be more than 10 %.

In short, after the transition, a total  of 2.35-2.4 million Joincoin cap would be reached. The cap would be slowly increased & would pass the 2.8 millions-mark  in 2 years and keep on increasing, unless further changes are implemented.

All is clear but IMHO if you want to continue with the plan, POS should be started much sooner than you said.

I would give the probability of starting the POW/POS transition one month earlier, (i.e., starting in less than 4 weeks @ block 225,001) a try.  Cheesy

The site joincoin.org link to the wallet is not working! Where else can you download the Wallet?

From the front opening page of this forum:

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Wallet Downloads and miner software links:

This original one no longer exists:
Windows Wallet: https://mega.co.nz/#!xIUAgbIC!Cz2asJGL4nBUxKV4kQKQCFqRE45tEyEVTR--5F0NyYM

For now, you have to make it from
Joincoin Source: https://github.com/joincoin/joincoin
until a new direct Windows download is available.

Joincoin window wallet client download

https://mega.nz/#!vVFDTDjY!Ch4qv9Kc0cO618nKJexes94Hu3uDL331GZf0eCjAaEw

Only <download through your browser> joincoin-1.3-qt and <run> are needed for you to start and create data files & file folder
(usually @  C:\users\(Active user)\AppData\Roaming\Joincoin\  folder)

and put in Joincoin.conf file to restart. The syncing would start from 56 weeks ago.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It took me less than 30 minutes to sync with my window 7 computer.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Joincoin.conf can be compiled from:
(Fill in rpcuser and rpcpassword and algo; gen=0 for wallet mining)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
gen=0
listen=1
daemon=1
server=1
rpcuser=
rpcpassword=
rpcallowip=10.1.1.*
rpcport=9150
rpcconnect=127.0.0.1

Probably first 8-10 addnodes should be good enough.
You can get more addnodes from http://www.multifaucet.tk/index.php?blockexplorer=J&network_info Cheesy

Happy mining Joincoins.  Cheesy
