upon closer inspection obviously the chances of the streak paired with 5 out of 14 ending in 8 ? lol ...u do the math!!!  Roll Eyes

What math?

To show how silly your line of reasoning is, what if I was to say "wow, you rolled exactly 35.8001 on your first roll, 59.3808 on the 2nd roll and 23.4632 on the third roll. What are the odds of getting exactly those three rolls in exactly that order? It's a trillion to one against so the site must be rigged.

Do you see how that is faulty logic?

Do you also see that you are using the same logic?

you lost me, what is the glaring connection between those 3 numbers?  Roll Eyes

There isn't one. I looked at the rolled numbers and made up a feature of them based on what I saw. Then asked what the odds of it happening were. Like with you and the 8's. You've never mentioned anything about 8's being suspicious before, but you saw them and assumed it meant something when of course it didn't.

I don't know any way to cheat the provably fair system. If you do, please let us in on it so it can be fixed.

ok maybe you know ... who invented this term? : "provably fair" :\

uhh when you can prove something is fair you say...provably fair.

welcome to language.  that is how it works.

wow you are stupid.

Sorry, I've been really sick for a little over a week.

Everyone please stop acknowledging this tumor, he feeds on attention. He's either very stupid, or trolling very hard, either way I can't figure out what it is this malignant man wants or is trying to demonstrate from a single word he's written, so I have to assume the only thing he's lusting after is the same thing his parents so negligently denied him from: simple acknowledgment of his pathetic and small existence on a tiny blue dot he's never paused to comprehend.

He seems confused and scared, blundering around message boards, blathering the kind of mindless drivel only a truly isolated and spiteful mongoloid could conceive of. Terrified by his own inability to comprehend his experiences he lashes out frantically at anyone attempting to accomplish more than he himself is capable, limited though that might be, in order to provide some proof of his competence and indeed his very being. I find him a tragic figure, like an gorilla in a concrete jungle, hunting for twigs and berries, eventually he will pause and wonder "Where have the others like me gone?" but by that point it will be far too late. Like a mesopotamian god king, his empire has fallen, and all those that fed his power though their conviction of belief have long since been absorbed into extinction by his own ego, and the comfortable existence which defined him has been snuffed out, leaving him on weak legs standing: a small animal eating breakfast under billions of stars.

BBmmBB, you have garnered nothing but the disrespect of your peers through your actions. I urge you to consider your actions and words more carefully in the future and perhaps take the time to learn about how dice.ninja works, we've given you all the tools necessary to demonstrate the faulcity of your claims entirely without our intervention, and many here, as well as myself would be more than happy to take the time to help you learn, if you are willing to take the time to listen, but I do not believe you will.

nice poetry ^ ~ um this thread is not about me it's about your game !!! Why don't you address my inquiry instead of making offhand speculations as to my social standing!!!! =O

ok maybe you know ... who invented this term? : "provably fair" :\

You avoided addressing any of my points, as expected, but that's a reasonable question.

I don't know the answer.

The first time I came across the concept of provable fairness was on bitjack21:

As of 8/9/11 I have enabled the "crypto-proof" system on the website.  This system is a mathematical PROOF that every hand you play at http://bitjack21.com is 100% completely honest.  (Technical details at http://bitjack21.com/cryptoproof )

but as far as I know they never coined the term "provably fair". Is it the term or the concept you're asking about? If it's the concept then I think that's your answer: bitjack21 invented it as far as I can tell.

The concept became incredibly popular with the rise of SatoshiDice:

Bet options are available with up to 64,000x multiples and a house edge of only 1.9% (and bet results are mathematically provably fair).

That could be the first time the term was used, but I'm not sure.

The place that I first saw provably fair done well was at Bitzino, where they allow the player to specify a seed after publishing the server seed hash:

I am the creator of bitZino - a provably fair HTML5 bitcoin casino with a focus on ease of use and a slick UI.

I hope that answers your question.

Now can you tell me how it is possible for the house to cheat on a provably fair site without being caught?

only a truly isolated and spiteful mongoloid could conceive of

Wait. Are you Klye? He's the only person I've ever seen use that word. Smiley

no you don't have any idea yet fools like you throw this term around like its some kind of bitcoin gospel!!! rotff!!!  Cheesy

A gospel is an account describing the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus of Nazareth. Whether you believe the account is a matter of faith. It's impossible to prove the content true or false.

That's nothing like provable fairness, which is a mathematical feature of a site. I guess you could argue that it requires faith to believe that it's almost impossible to find sha-256 collisions, but that's a stretch.

Basically people "throw around" provable fairness as a useful concept because it works, not because it's a story they like.

Dead links? nice one..haha

*fwiw*: this actually sounds legit and "provable" because you see the hash before the hand! .. this is not how it works in todays sites i've seen! >>

You asked for the history, so I quoted you the history. It's not surprising if links in the posts I quoted are dead, but that's hardly my fault.

You always see the hash before the hand, or it isn't provably fair.

Do yourself a favour: understand provable fairness before posting more rubbish about it. You're only making yourself look silly.

no in his description you see the two hash together before the hand, where as now you don't get to see the secret hash until a day after or something right? :\

..the other thing it's amusing to see how the guy who you say first came up with the "provably fair" nonsense has just recently plead guilty in federal court ! hmmm!!! =O

The fact that you say "secret hash" tells me you still haven't a clue what you're talking about. There is never a secret hash.

Not really. He plead guilty to something completely unrelated to fairness. He was never accused of cheating. He was accused of selling shares without being registered with the appropriate government body. You could argue that it is unfair that you have to get government approval to legally sell that which is rightfully yours, but that's not the fairness we're talking about here.

secret meaning unrevealed till after the roll..his example you see a hash of the two house seeds BEFORE the hand so there it would be in fact provably fair! Smiley

..as for Eric i dunno how you are trying to spin it , all i'm saying is he is known criminal and this is who you are arguing as the legit originator of your such "fair" system? ROTFLMFAO!!!!  Cheesy

All provably fair systems reveal the server seed hash before the roll of course. Like I said, do some reading before making an even bigger fool of yourself.

1. Eric bought the site from a developer who wasn't willing to keep running it once it took off. He's a business man, not a developer.

2. Even if he did first coin the term "provably fair" (and I don't know if he did) it wasn't a new concept, just a new term. As I said, bitjack21 was provably fair before SatoshiDice was launched.

3. "Known criminal"? Ad hominem attacks like that don't hold any water when we're discussing the merits of a mathematical proof. You can call Pythagoras' theorem names as much as you like, but you won't stop it being true.
