hi there,

i just noticed this week that amd had released a 7850 and 7870 recently, and I was kind of surprised that they are already on stock. so as I didnt find any results on their mining capabilities in this sec or in the hardware comparison wiki page, I'd like to ask if anyone got any of those, and how much I can expect them to do. Power consumtion values'd be appreciated too. If no one has any data on those, I'll buy a 7870 on wednesday and publish the results :-D

Weren't the 7850s supposed to be the card to mine with?  Or at least that's what everybody was speculating a few months ago.  Are there any mining benchmarks yet?

That's because people thought the number of stream processors they would have in them was far more than they actually ended up having.

Finally got my XFX Black DD 7850 setup.

@875/1250 → 294 Mh/s

Using CGMiner; diablo kernel, intensity 7, vectors 1, and a worksize of 256.

Will try overclocking later.  Getting close to overloading my power oulet and I only have 1 in my basement.   Cry

These card can hit the CCC 1050 MHZ limit rather easily, and being hash rate is rather linear with Core speed...

(294 Mhashs / 875Mhz)*1050mhz = 352.8 Mhash/s at full tilt.

I don't know if any overclocking utilities can push it past CCC's limit yet, but at lease you have some numbers now.

for overclocking reference, 7850 is at the bottom of the page.

You can go way past the 1050mhz limit apparently, at least in windows:

http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18389760 See post #11 and on.

Seems like it's very easy to hit 1250, and with some extra voltage 1300+ is possible.

For a $260 card, seems pretty nice in theory, although I don't own any.

Can any 7850 owners confirm?
