If he didn't change the email and password you could just take it back thus defeating the purpose of using it in the first place. I'm sure you'll get it back when you repay the loan.

It is also interesting that so much was loaned for a senior member account as most other loans with an un-trusted senior account are for .1 max

I offered 0.15 BTC max and the deal was almost concluded when I got Marco's PM. Since he was asked first I let him take it, but when I saw he was offering 0.2 BTC I sent a PM warning him.

I will be investigating what exactly the problem is, as soon as I get a moment to.

And yeah, loaning so much even with an account as collateral is asking for trouble. 0.1 is probably worth the risk as you'd be getting a cheap account if he defaulted.

I agree that there is an overwhelming chance the account was not hacked, but I didn't know this was a common thing to claim after selling (or putting up as collateral) your account. I do think that lending with accounts as collateral is a very interesting way to buy accounts, although I am surprised that so many people with positive reputation/trust are engaging in this practice based on how the community generally feels about this practice, as many people think (incorrectly) that selling accounts leads to scamming. The new password reset log should be able to dismiss most claims of hacked accounts for the most part as it is public information if an account has had their password changed/reset in the past 3/30 days.

I loan for the sake of others needing a loan, not for the sake of "getting cheap accounts". If the collateral is enough to overcome any losses then it is fine with me. Obviously this depends on the collateral and loan amount.
