It depends on how much time you have.
Here is a list newbies can do:

- faucets (to try the system)
- trading
- selling things
- offering services
- signature track
- begging  (not allowed on this forum)
- gambling (you can win, or lose.. depends how you play)

Also see this old thread:  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=525183.0

Well, you can try faucets, a sig. campaign, or try selling services online.

I have some nice faucet links (with my ref) in my signature. If you want to be mean, here are direct links to faucets. No ref link.

primedice.com

For convenience here's my links:

If you have some skill, sell it here on Service section, or join a signature campaign. Otherwise, just buy it with your money Cheesy

I would suggest you to avoid faucets, it's like just wasting your time.

Primedice campaign has changed so that no ranks below senior are allowed to participate. So no luck for a newbie.

Edit: Only the rules of the signature campain have changed so reflinks are still ok for newbies

He was referring to the referral/affiliate system, not the sig. campaign.

Fast. Yes. But you need some to start with.

Depends on what scale you're expecting your income on.

The best way to start is to try to sell something in the market, just look out for scammers and use always an escrow.

Do you have any skills to sell for BTC on this forum? {Typing / Programming / Graphic design .....etc} ---> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=52.0

Do you have any goods to sell? {Old games / Collectables etc} Well sell them here --> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=51.0

There are also loads of projects and bounties and competitions being offered, where people can claim BTC for participating.

If you really desperate, use the faucets, they are free, but a waste of time, if you serious about making real BTC --> freebitco.in and http://faucet.bitcoinzebra.com/ is worth it.

And after a while, once you reach higher ranks on this forum, you can join, one of these signature campaigns. --> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=615953.0
{But first do some research on BTC matters, so that you can contribute positively to the forum, and avoid spamming, it's frowned on and you will get banned}

Good luck and enjoy your stay.

I used bitvistor for about 5min then got into faucets for about a week until i realised i was jus wasting my time.
If you dont hav any programing skills then the only way is just buy them, i used a lamassu atm the other day and i had coins in 3 steps and maybe 5min to confirm.
Even if your going to invest you need some btc to start with.
Good luck and welcome to the forum.

There are a couple of signature campaigns even for newbies. So it is a good option to get your first bitcoin.  Smiley

Can you do some work on the net? Have any experience as freelancer until now?
You can post your skills in the market section and there might be persons who will hire you to work. Can you write articles and such things?
Any experience as developer of something? IOS, JAVA, C, HTML, PHP, ROR, etc..

Buy it with fiat money.
Get a job that pays you in bitcoin.
Sell goods and services for bitcoin.

For other methods, I don't think you can get 1 btc within reasonable time.
