Just posting some info I've gathered:

Essex343 (ClusterCoin Dev) - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=133160 - Registered: June 26, 2013, 01:19:56 PM
No posts between January 19 to May 22

ShameOnYou (UseCoin Dev) - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=131712 - Registered: June 21, 2013, 03:11:11 PM
No posts between December 10 to May 21

HarryT1923 (CrystalCoin Dev) - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=132636 - Registered: June 24, 2013, 03:28:58 PM
No posts between December 10 to May 25

All three accounts post often in the same threads and quote each other quite a bit:
https://www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl#filter=0&q=site%3Abitcointalk.org+Essex343%2BShameOnYou%2BHarryT1923&start=0

And they all posted in similar topics frequently (giveaways).

All three accounts ran an ICO close to the same time together. All three domains registered via eNom.

ShameOnYou already dumped the Usecoin premine on Bittrex, let's see what Bittrex decides to do regarding Essex343's funds from the ClusterCoin ICO.

It is still possible that someone sold these accounts to different people and they are no longer connected. This post is just pure speculation.

yeah they look all the same, all are begging for free giveways to increase post count to most likely sell acc to others

Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

Besides the possibility they did scam by themself.I assume the scammers bought "full membership" from the original owners.

yeah they look all the same, all are begging for free giveways to increase post count to most likely sell acc to others

Yes, that is definitely a possibility.

A big "supporter" of Clustercoin likes to buy accounts here...

Hello!
I would like to buy Member or Full Member account
Please PM me your best offers

Also please provide some info about the account you would like to sell
  • Is it your account?
  • When was this account last active?
  • What bitcointalk section this account was most active at?

I would like to use escrow

Thanks!

This is the third time i've heard of BitTrex.com being involved in shady dealings; one of these stories can be read at highoncoins.com. I would not trust BitTrex if i were a coin dev and as a miner if i need to exchange coins at BitTrex I immediately withdrawl all my coins from BitTrex. They can't steal whats not there, I do believe if the SEC has jurisdiction over BitTrex they must be contacted to start an investigation. But who knows where BitTrex is based out of if its out of the states then ohh well not much can be done except to protect your coins from them in your wallet.

Essex343 just posted in the Official Moderated ClusterCoin thread.

He said, "lastly I didn't buy this account. I was experimenting with crypto back then, looking what others were doing. Away time was due to some rough time at my former job."

Link: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=753089.msg8507913#msg8507913

IF you believe what he says, that he did not buy the account, then that leaves only 2 possibilities:

1) He is also ShameOnYou and HarryT1923

or

2) He ran up the posts on all three accounts (Essex343, ShameOnYou, HarryT1923) and sold ShameOnYou and HarryT1923, but kept the Essex343 account.

The similarities are too close, there are no other possibilities.

This makes me confused. I'm so worried now!  Sad

Definitely looks shady. But let's remember Bittrex has nothing to do with this. People spam them to add coins. They do and when things get bad they get the blame for it.

I mean... come on. You're traders and need to learn to take the loss. This is decentralised, deregulated waters. Everyone preaching about anti-gov and such but as soon as shit hits the fan you scream for FBI, wtf?

(Sorry for everybody who lost)

Difference here is that they hosted the ICO and it is still in their power to prevent this thief from getting away with it. Not to mention he abused their system twice the same day clstr/use

Like  a judge setting free a clearly guilty rapist based on  technicality screwups by the prosecutor

AMEN to that!!!

However BitTrex may not have sunk usecoin but they have done extreamly shady things, market manipulations/missing coins from account holders/and im sure they have sunk a coin or two for their own gain but thats all speculation. When hard proof comes up that BitTrex is acting unethical I have a feeling the tides will change.

My feeling is that this is mostly an outgrowth of the signature campaigns, with them being fairly lucrative. It's a bit shady, but I think accounts sold are most likely to be used for this (somewhat) legitimate purpose -- as opposed to scamming.
