I've been talking to Arg on Twitter and trying to get him to rebrand to something different. I was thinking Torque because it has Tor in the name and it represents something that's used for securing something like a torque wrench. He's still busy with life happening. I'm thinking he had children and that's what's taking up most of his time and resources. As for finding a developer nothing so far has come of my attempts. Arg says it wouldn't take much to get the coin back up again and I think the only way it'll get relisted on bittrex is if the GitHub became active again. My personal opinion is that this coin could be a college education or retirement fund for his kids if it were active again. Only time will tell. Our only hope is to get an angel investor to put Fiat into the project and that would require the community putting effort into marketing to the right people. Arg is a developer and not a marketer so we have to bear that. On a side note here couldn't get the website back because someone got the domain. Probably also a good reason to rebrand. Maybe torquecoin.com??
Even if you use Bitcoin through Tor, the way transactions are handled by the network makes anonymity difficult to achieve. Do not expect your transactions to be anonymous unless you really know what you're doing.

The current head developer has not been able to keep up with maintaining or innovating the coin because of personal reasons. He is willing to hand over the development to someone else.

Here's some info on the coin:
Sonic Coin (ticker symbol SSD)

Sonic Coin provides a complete anonymity solution for cryptocurrencies. It combines the network analysis resistance of Tor with the blockchain analysis resistance of stealth send. Sonic Screwdriver has a fair distribution with nearly four hours of low reward blocks, a small premine of 1%, and the long-term energy efficiency of proof-of-stake minting.

This wallet supports the stake=0 option in the SonicScrewdriver.conf file to disable the stake miner thread for pool and exchange operators.

Info on the Money Supply:
Algorithm: SHA-256d Premine: 0 First Subsidy 8,000 SSD Halving every 1440 blocks (about 1 day) Last PoW block: 20,420 Total PoW Money: 23,037,120 SSD PoS Interest: 20%

Here is a link to the github https://github.com/SonicScrew/SonicScrewdriver

What I liked about this coin originally was that it added privacy to a coin with the same algo as bitcoin. I thought any innovation in this area could eventually be used by bitcoin developers and would make SSD more valuable in that regard. I still think it has that potential even now. Perhaps with some rebranding and development updates this coin can rise from the ashes. I've talked to Russel and he mentioned that it wouldn't take much to get the coin back on its feet. If your interested you can contact the current developer on twitter https://twitter.com/argakiig

Well if anyone knows anything about SSD - I'd love to promote them once more; if somebody DMs me on twitter we can work something out.

Sorry for the late reply. My account was hacked so I had to create another account thus the virgojeep1 instead of virgojeep. I've been talking with Arg on Twitter trying to persuade him to get back to developing Sonic, maybe even some rebranding and a hard fork to change some things. Just recently I asked him if he thought Sonic would be compatible with the the same algorithm that Raiblocks uses so it too could have instant transactions. He was interested in that and he's looking into it. He tends to be more interested in playing dauntless and using twitch than working on cryptocurrency. He also has children and a mortgage now which may have him feeling depressed. I don't know what could inspire him to get back into cryptocurrency. I sometimes wish he would just teach me everything he knows so I could do the development myself.

I would love for development to get back on track and it being potentially renamed. If we could just get a dev or someone to take over, or make him interested again. Keep doing great work!

I believe we can get this back on an exchange if you are able to find a solution. Say to ARG that people still wants his projects to succeed.

Ok guys it's official. SSD is Rebranding to TORQ and Argakiig is in a place where he can start working on development again. We are doing some outreach to find other developers to help work on the coin. My friend is going to help create a simple website and I asked arg if he could develop a web wallet. WERE BACK!!!

Yes. It's really real. We need a team of developers though so Arg doesn't get burned out doing it all on his own. If your a developer and are willing to take a chance on a one of a kind project Torq may be the opportunity you've been waiting for.

Just fired my wallet up. I'm on the road but I'll let it run tonight. As soon as I get home tomorrow night I'll leave it running full time to help everyone get synced up. Cool
