There aren't so many virus for linux and maybe they can't do too much if they don't have root access, but just using linux isn't enough to protect you.

I use and like the free AVG. But I recommend not installing any of the extra "features". They are on a trial basis so after a while you get a bunch of annoying popups asking you to buy stuff.

Thanks for letting us know. I am planning to try AVG but I don't like any annoying popups too. I think I'll just try it without any extra features. |

Thanks for letting us know. I am planning to try AVG but I don't like any annoying popups too. I think I'll just try it without any extra features. Why don't you try Avast which doesn't give annoying popups once you go back to normal after the premium features get expired? -MZ |
