Avast or Avira + MalwareBytes, but even then there are plenty of trojans, worms etc. So viruses defending is not an easy task  Wink

being careful and avoiding any suspicious files is a good start, using a good antivirus is important too, avast, nod32 and avira are good.

Avast just works, plus it has free version.
For virtual machines, I use lightweight antivirus like bitdefender.

I use anti virus AVG and Kaspersky. I think best antivirus.
