I am using online wallet but I think Offline wallet is more secure than online wallet. Because there is always a possibility of being hacked.

True, so it is a trade-off between safety and convenience.
You can put most of your coin in an offline wallet for safety, and put a small amount of coin in an hot wallet to spend them conveniently.

In all the replies to the OP, I seem to not see anything mentioned about Xapo or Coinbase....hmmmm. Are these not good choices?

No. You can't access private keys when using Xapo and Coinbase but I think you can access private keys if use Coinbase vault.

Coinbase is pretty popular.  Just make sure to turn on 2 factor authentication.   Also treat it as a hot wallet as it is online.  But it is good to have something like it for spending money so you don't have to get cold wallet for each transaction you do.

Keep the majority of your coin in a safe cold wallet.

People can advise newbies on what wallet to use but I can't stress enough that so many bitcoin thefts & lost coins are as a result of user error.
Seriously guys do as much research as you can, leave nothing to chance.

We are talking about your money here, leave nothing to chance, take no risks.
I use a mixture of Bitcoin QT, paper wallets and blockchain.info (for smaller amounts).
Make sure you do regular full computer, anti virus scans if you keep coins in an online wallet & if you are doing paper wallets please god create them in offline mode with encrypted passwords.
Use 2 factor authentification where possible & create complex passwords that you use nowhere else.

Sometimes you can get hacked & it's not your fault but I see so many people falling for dumb phishing sites & getting scammed.
Protect your bitcoins like you would your fiat in your leather wallet in every day life.

Bitcoin core is probably the best to use. or if you want to change to an alterative there really is only one option and that would be armory. any others are possibly silly to use and doesn't really contribute to the bitcoin network unlike bitcoin core. but if you cant get on with bitcoin core I can understand why people would use others.

However, Coinbase does have a new multisig option (which isn't the default, you have to go looking for it). I haven't checked it out yet, but if it's what it says it is, I'd consider it a good option if you use their multisig wallet, and only that.

Well, you should start reading and exploring. https://www.google.co.in/search?q=blockchain.info+hacked. Blockchain.info devs even pushed a buggy code.

Online wallets are never "most" secure.

Stick with Bitcoin core it's probably the best one out there as it supports the network and is constantly being worked on by very committed developers

I don't know if I stick with Web-based or go to Desktop applications

i am using mycelium and bit-x wallet apps on my android and belive me they both are good and smooth on the uses and are not that much easy to get hacked but if you want the security at the top most layer then yes you have to get stick with blockchain

the only con about bitcoin core is that the wallet launch takes a few minutes. can't seem to get it to open faster. beside that for pc bitcoin core is the best option.

Wallets are only as safe as you are. Blockchain.info is very safe providing you set up all the security features. Make sure you have 2-factor authentication set up at a minimum. 

yes i also far safer, use the wallet blockchain + google authenticator.
but a few weeks ago my friend experienced the strange enough, he wears blockchain and also use 2FA security, but still he could hack wallet hmm.

There's no way an online wallet will ever be the most secure, you really need to read up more on wallets.

Your risks with an online wallet is substantially bigger as many of the security related aspects are out of your control. You have to trust the third party providing the service and hope that they implement the best security possible and even then there is no guarantee that they will not be hacked.

I do not like online wallets but if I have to recommend an online wallet it would have to be either Xapo, coinbase and or Circle as these at least offer insurance should there be any losses which are not attributable to negligence on your side like for example when one of their employees make of with one of their wallets.

With Blockchain you have no insurance whatsoever. But as said, online wallets should never be used for anything more than daily spending amounts.
