can't wait to dump my shitty ass DOS coins
Be that as it may, such statements hardly encourage the developer to greater efforts, do they? You didn't buy DosCoin because you think altcoin mining pools in particular and the 'net generally could use more/imaginative DDoS defences? Fair enough, then you bought as a speculator hoping for an increase in value. Give that some thought for a moment. Imagine you are selling... lawnmowers. Does your advertising read: "I can't wait to dump my shitty ass lawnmowers"? Do you think your sales return might improve with: "I have the Rolls Royce of lawnmowers. I believe it can cut grass like nothing else on the market but if you want one it'll cost you a premium"? Just a thought.

Agreed. The dev is taking on a HUGE project. It's practically the definition of "high risk investment" but this is the altcoin market and there are no "safe" investments really. As always, never risk what you can't afford to lose. Personally I wouldn't be in it if I hadn't seen Somekindabitcoin in chat boxes and forums over time. If he's a scam artist he's spent a long time cultivating this persona. He didn't make any attempt to pump DosCoin's price at all, which is really a poor effort for a scam developer. I guess it's possible that he threw away one potential scam to set everyone up for a larger sting (and BTC1800 is an audacious sting if that is his intent) but it hasn't felt that way to me. That and a controlled release escrow through Poloniex works for me.

These are the exact requirements in order for me to get an ICO on Poloniex:
"Poloniex must have the coins for the ICO upfront. A plan for how the ICO funds will be used must be submitted. Poloniex will hold all ICO funds. All withdrawals from the account holding the ICO funds must be approved by Poloniex staff, and must be consistent with the submitted plan. A public ledger will be kept of all withdrawals, including their destination and purpose. Do not expect to make massive withdrawals on the ICO funds account. An ICO can only be made by an established member of the community. Identity verification (preferably through a scan of a government issued ID) is required for all users wishing to create an ICO. Advance notice must be posted about the ICO and the coin at least 24 hours before the ICO is activated on Poloniex. Poloniex reserves the right to refuse to host an ICO for any reason."
That is already pretty damned hard to get away with anything right?

Allow another week or two for the ICO. They specifically state that everything needs to be planned out before it happens. I will be forced to show the different whitepapers and the roadmap, as well as how work gets done and who am I paying the money to.

If i remember correctly you put in big bold red letters ''I WILL NOT DO A POD''. Yet you will give ''Identity verification (preferably through a scan of a government issued ID) is required for all users wishing to create an ICO.'' HmmmHmmm Why is this ?, what is the difference ?, is Poloniex easier to fool ?.

Probably for the same reason I verify my identity for my Cryptsy account but use a pseudonym online. That one is not red flag material from my perspective. With all due respect to cryptoasian his pods mean exactly jack to me. An exchange verifying some form of government documentation is at least a start. I would prefer something along the line of Australian financial institution requirements (you need to show 100 points worth of ID to open bank accounts, etc., which can take some doing if you don't have original birth certificates and a passport). That's verified identification and PODs are categorically not. I'm a nervous investor too but please let us not get distracted by such nonsense as certified by cryptoasian chat. That is a total non-issue for me.

Poloniex is an exchange. Besides that, I don't have to give out my identity to you guys either, so I can keep using my pseudonym.

This roadmap is going to take a lot longer than expected. Before I could IPO on Poloniex, I need to provide a clear roadmap.
This includes all the developers, promotions, software and I.T companies, and PR.
I will also include the budget needed for everything, and, if it goes lower than the IPO, i'm going to lower the price of each coin.
I'm projecting around 400-600k for the project.
It would bring down the price to around 4-7k satoshis.

You could find Escrow.
As I read it Poloniex Initial Coin Offering will be the escrow. Do you have an idea other than ICO?
