Should anyone who holds Bitcoins and commits suicide  attribute his death to Bitcoin?  Bitcoins has experienced several times' high-profile collapses, it still recovers from the collapse. Though it is not near from the spring of Bitcoin, it will be a day for such a digital currency of high quality.

I just learnt about it about an hour ago and just now eluded to it in a previous post. Interesting comments!

I don't think anyone should ever take their own life over Bitcoin, or any other form of currency. It doesn't seem that her work was the only contributing factor for her committing suicide. She apparently had troubles in her personal life. This is a sad thing to see, and I wish she would have taken a different route. Suicide is rarely, if ever, a good option.

No it shouldn't. In this case it was attributed to stress and personal issues. Being the CEO of any company regardless of it being bitcoin related will be stressful.

SINGAPORE — A Singapore Coroner's Court has found that the American CEO of a virtual currency exchange committed suicide earlier this year in Singapore because of work and personal issues.

No more than someone who holds cash and commits suicide. The relevance is always going to be situational.

It isn't, sure the price was very volatile at the time but that doesn't mean anything anyone who is involved with bitcoin knows the current price is volatile but in the longrun its a steady rise.

Why are we bringing up news back from February?  Sad, that Autumn Radke passed, but this is a way old headline from the beginning of this year.

Not sure how this bit of news is relevant to going ons of today.

Although this is old news it still makes me sad.

The death is not attributable to Bitcoin, it is attributable to perceived personal failure combined with the perception that suicide is the only way out. I think there is more than one factor that contributed to this perception.

Mental illness/stability issues is a major factor that is being overlooked aswell, we seem to know nothing about her expect she was involved with Bitcoin. Maybe some she loved left her or died, she could have even found out she had a disease or cancer we have no clue. Too many questions to pin it on BTC.

Yes, I remember reading about this months ago. So is this thread just rehashing old news for FUD purposes or what?

Remember Aaron Swartz, a 26 year old computer scientist who died defending the free flow of information.

May be unnecessary but it was due to the coroners report. The artcile was dates yesterday, so kinda new news in that respect.
