Is there a primer somewhere on setting up the digitalcoind for sha256? When I cloned the git and compiled, the algo is scrypt, not sha256. I'm sure it's something simple...

TIA!

Change the algo setting in digitalcoin.conf to SHA256.

-tb-

Thanks - FWIW added:

algo=sha256d to digitalcoin.conf and that got me where I needed to be.

Cheers!

Nothing to see here. Move along people. No changes are under way for DGC, the forum is still dead and the price is tanking further.

The forum is now literally dead. Server box is running, but no forum and no email. The network admin says it has connectivity and knows nothing more. If anyone runs into xawksow maybe mention it to him because I have no idea what to do to get it running again.

Do you have a copy of the forum or access to the box? We should mirror it to ensure it stays up

Who had control of the forum?? How long has it been down? Is the forum on the same server as the DGC website?

I run the server and xawksow set up vbulletin. The server is running, but the forum appears not to be running. The website is on a hosted account, not this server.

When was digitalcoin.co set to redirect to digitalcoin.org?  Not sure if this is the issue but maybe?  Is the forum hosted on the same server as the digitalcoin foundation server?

Good thought, that could well be the problem.

@Tsquared, why not ask someone for help to investigate what is going on?

the website was redirected when the website at digitalcoin.co went down. I had no involvement with the digitalcoin.co website, but put up the revised old one at digitalcoin.org just so we had something. It's completely separate and has nothing to do with the forum. the forum was working fine for months after the redirect was put in place.

I have two of my people working on it as they have the time, and BatesResearch offered to help if we can get a database extract to him. Besides that I  would be thrilled if there was others who had some interest in helping out with this or other things, but I've been asking for help with this stuff for months and nobody seems to care very much. Considering the lack of interest, and the recent activity (or lack thereof) on the forum, I'm not really seeing the benefit in putting too much effort into it.

TT

Edit: "nobody seems to care very much" was the wrong thing to say. There are a few folks, and that's the only reason I spend even 5 minutes trying to fix this.

Yes SimonTower, and we will fix it.

Thanks for the link last night, that may explain things. Hopefully we'll get it solved today. Wish we would have stayed with the simple machines forum. It was much easier to work with.

There is no longer a wiki there it seems. I guess you could use http://coinwik.org/DigitalCoin if you need a wiki link.

Does anyone know where the wiki was running? SimonTower did a ton of work on that, and it would be a shame if all that work was lost.
