Can someone please help me figure this VTC/DRK thing? I have a few ASIC shares and no mods. Does it mean I can't set my payments to Vertcoin or Darkcoin? What happens if I set my coin choice to one of those? I read the first post and if I got it right I need to by a Dual Mod, but there are none available at the shop

Thanks in advanced guys

EDIT: ok, I think I got it. You buy a mod so a certain amount of shares can be used to mine VTC (Scrypt-N mod) or DRK (X11 mod) but those are not subject to multiplication, right?

You need to be patient. DualMOD got quite fast out of stock. I have waited 2 weeks in order to get one.

Roger that, thanks  Cheesy

Remember, the DualMOD shares aren't subject to multiplication, but the reserved qASIC shares used for the DualMODs will be multiplied normally. So for example if you got 1 Anniversary Package + 1 DualMOD, the next multiplication will net you 560 qASIC shares... which just about covers the initial 630 shares that are reserved while mining VTC/DRK.

Hmmm, ok so let me try an example just to make sure I got it right please.

If I got say 100 Asic shares, and buy a 50 share dual mod, I got 50 shares mining LTC (or FTC) and 50 shares mining VTC
When the multiplication happens all of the 100 shares are subject to multiplication, but none of the extra shares go to VTC, only for Scrypt so I end up with, I don't know 80 scrypt shares and still 50 VTC shares

is that correct. Thanks for the clarification

thanks, that's an important piece of info there. Much appreciated

I have a problem now, trying to set my payment to FTC to take advantage of this week's bump, the FTC address won't go through, everytime I go back to my account there's still the LTC address, what gives?

I'll try on Saturday after the payment then. At any rate, I think I'll leave it alone, cause the FTC diff increased quite a lot too
Thanks

aaaaand another question please.

Quote
Convert to shares option:  payment will be converted to shares at 1k6x share / USD with 60% discount (49% aniversary + 19%).

If a given week that calculation results in say 10.6 shares, do I get 10 (round down)?, 11?, 10.6?

You won't have to do anything, just set "Coin Choose" under my account to the coin you would like to be paid out in (LTC, FTC or BTC) and make sure you have filled in all your wallet addresses.

In about 24 hours the payouts will start and you should receive your first payout for the shares you currently own Smiley

Hopefully the coin estimates will prove to be better than last weeks (mostly FTC & DRK were the issue if you aren't following too close)... if all goes well, this is what I want to implement next:

I'll be able to use the forecasting stuff for more things...so one thing I really want to put in is a page where you can enter in basic purchase info (i.e. date, what product, BTC spent) and have it track ROI on the initial outlay... and have the ability add multiple purchases whenever you make them... but i'll start working on that when i feel like the estimates are as good as i can get them.

Go to "My Account", set a "coin choice", that's the coin in which you get your weekly payments:

LTC: if you want to be paid in LTC or FTC. If you pick this option, you'll be paid in LTC if you set an LTC address in the field "Scrypt address (LTC/FTC)" above, or FTC if you set an FTC address there
BTC: your payment is converted to BTC, you need a BTC address in the field "SHA256 address (Bitcoin)", and also I'm guessing, an LTC or FTC address in the field "Scrypt address (LTC/FTC)" which is what your shares will be mining and converting to BTC.
COnvert to shares: your profits are automatically reinvested in new shares at (currently) about 0.00121959 BTC per share if my calculations are not off. I'm asking about rounding of shares in this case

Please someone correct me if there's anything that needs to be corrected here

Confirmed, it's a round down or int part. 10.6 would net you 10 shares.

No prob mate

For anyone interested, I also asked Chris about expiring shares, and whether we'll be notified for expiring shares so we can choose to renew them. He told me when time comes we will get an e-mail with details.

It's really just a personal choice of strategy... right now 3200 qASICS mining LTC is earning a slight bit more DualMODS.... but the LTC only earnings slowly degrade pretty predictably over time (even with multiplication)...

Until recently VTC has been outperforming everything and DRK was terrible to mine... this week there's more parity between DRK & VTC...

I think it's just a diversification thing... at least for me... plus I like the 2 coins that you get from DualMODs.

Your calc tool says otherwise:
LTC+DRK: 0.6997 BTC/week
LTC+VTC: 0.6016 BTC/week

Some data wrong ?
