i've had the qt running on/off for about 24hours.

is the node based distribution still happening because i havent received any ..

So far VPN thread has been very clean, have not seen any postings of trolls spreading FUD.
Maybe its because VPN team deletes those post, I do not know.

Same here. But after it drops to 0, the wallet will try to reconnect again. Then I get 1 or 2 connections slowly and once it starts to download the blockchain, number of connections moves up again and now I get 13 connections.

It does mean that the nodes are not stable and not easy to connect especially during wallet startup.

This problem is quite unusual. Hope the dev can look into this and check his main node(s).

For new users or anyone that has some problems with the wallet.

Replay :

NEVER allow others to use your ip if you can into trouble with the law !!

To prevent others to use your ip make make sure you have following settings disabled :
-start vpn service
-start p2p proxy

Here is a quick user guide :

502 error is just that what it says, site off line or the node that host the site is not connected to your client.

In BitNet settings, tab "all nodes" you can check if you are connected with the right node, check for nickname "BitNetTalk.com".
Also have a look for "dice.com", "www.game.com", and check if you can load these sites.
If you can, then BitNetTalk.com is off line.

In BitNet settings, tab "settings" you can enable all you see in "normal" settings.
However in "service" settings ONLY enable :
-open p2p Domain Name System
-start http service
-start https service

Make sure you have following settings disabled :
-start vpn service
-start p2p proxy

If not present, add the following in the text box just above "start p2p proxy" and "work threads" :
localhost;127.0.0.1

Hit "SAVE" when done !

Following ports should be forwarded :

920 - TCP
922 - TCP/UDP
923 - TCP/UDP

Have tested this and it works just fine.

Also as posted by others, in case you have problems syncing or getting connected, delete peers.dat !
