There wasn't any substantial instamine. Let's be realistic, 9 blocks just does not matter at all, and the first blocks on a coin will always be mined in less than a few seconds. Even if the developer is using even a single GPU to start the blockchain, that's what you'll see. That's not an "instamine" by any stretch of the imagination though.

For reference, I saw the announcement thread and had the wallet compiled by block 93, with the first block found on our pool at block 110. (All blocks for every coin are viewable on my pool, if you're curious to see the early blocks we mined. Just check https://www.ipominer.com/stats?curr=stv and click "All Blocks Found - STV" at the bottom of the block list, then go to the last page.)

Even if the developer is using even a single GPU to start the blockchain, that's what you'll see. That's not an "instamine" by any stretch of the imagination though.

Well...I dont have a full explanation at all...seems like the first thread was posted at 3:19 PM forum time and removed by 3:21 PM...then first 9 blocks mined starting at 4:09 PM forum time and then this ann post at 4:40 PM forum time. We do need SOME involvement at this point.  POW stage is so short!  If more people don't get involved now, we won't get good distribution and then pretty shortly, nobody but a few people will care about coin because nobody will be able to mine it.  I plan on mining this to the end of POW because you never know if someone is just scheming and keeping info from us.  They could come out on the last day of POW and come up with a great road map, lol.  Who knows...

Just fix the staking in the wallet and you've got yourself a good coin base to work on.  You can make something good out of something like this.  You don't have to purchase logo (its there), but you can improve on it if need be.  The wallet has good features if it can be polished up.  I'm going to keep mining this limited PoW.  ~1700 PoW blocks left.  No way I am stopping unless coin has no pulse.

STV is a limited resource. Since the coin is on bittrex it could be added to CannaPay. It would be nice to see that happen. Someone should contact the CCN guys (let them buy a few STV while its dirt cheap) and then maybe they will add it to CannaPay.

STV will always be around. Maybe there's a crypto service that hosts addnodes and block explorers for coins that are struggling with trading volume. That would be a great solution for this coin over the next year. I have noticed other pos only coins going through the same pattern of no trading volume. It probably has to do with no new POW coins for sale.

There isn't much more to do other than wait for consumer adoption and future development in decentralized cryptography.

Sativacoin code is nice and clean so it's really easy for anyone with the motivation to take a catch of it.

While waiting for someone capable of giving this great little coin the kind of treatment it deserves to turn up, I'll give my guarantee that all necessary upgrades can and will be done to it by Altcoin.Center.

Basically the only rather urgent issue is that the SSL library version (1.0.1g) against which the wallets is linked to has several vulnerabilities to it. The wallet code itself doesn't need any upgrades to fix this - it just needs to be recompiled against the latest OpenSSL libraries.

Ah, sorry: the (Windows) wallet is linked against OpenSSL 1.0.1h. That version is vulnerable as well, though. It needs to be upgraded to the current one which is 1.0.1j.

The daemons running on the Altcoin.Center seed nodes are compiled with the latest OpenSSL so they are ok, but all the precompiled wallets need an update.

Yeah, although nothing too visible for the time being. We're looking for people able and willing to participate in the further development of Sativa, and will make sure things stay on track while the search is on.

It's an interesting situation in the hemp related coin scene. Potcoin is perceived as "too official" by many (perhaps even yours truly;), Cannabiscoin and Cannacoin appear to be at war with each other (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=827998.msg9648814#msg9648814), The Hemp Coin is doing ok but the trade volumes have been rather low lately, while Ganja's developers have apparently disappeared (http://alt.report/altcoins/item/263-ganja-ganja-coin-anonymous-ico-developers-have-disappeared).

Dope just upgraded to version 3 and turned PoS. I'm involved in Dope development so it's easy to doubt my objectiveness, but I do say that both the Dope core developers and the community are very active and I'm confident Dope will stand it's ground firmly.

It appears to me like there's lots of room for Sativa to flourish with Dope. Although I can't yet tell exactly what it is, I know there's a niche where none of the other 420 coins have tapped to. We'll get back to that as soon as the new Sativa development team is set to go.
