hi rik. why not make the coin hybrid PoW/PoS where there is still basic income for those with zero balance? divide the block rewards among miners, PoS rewards and a central fund for basic income and other projects. im no expert but i think crypto users does not like demurrage because it is taxation. PoS will encourage users to hold wlc rather than dumping to avoid demurrage.

Hi iTradeChips,
this is exactly what i tried to do. But including POS into a coin from scratsch is very complicated. POS/POW is even more complicated. And to implement it in a running Merge Mining coin there are even more things to consider, so i am stuck with this part of the project.

I can understand that people do not like taxation. But everyone is screaming for the the state if anything need to be paied. The only real consequence is that the rich keep their money and the poor suffer. To give the people a basic income the best way imo to attract people. If it is not working, most likely the prople have not suffered enough. The problem is that most poor people do not have the possibility to  lern more about Bitcoin the finacial system and altcoins in particular.

The idea to charge negative interest rates on money at the central banks is the same like demurrage but WLC has the additional advance that money is not equal to debt, so we can pay a basic income.

If people do not understand why the combination negative interest rates/basic income is powerful that there is not much that WLC can do.

Hi everybody i tried to create enough volume for WLC at C-Cex to keep trading alive. I accidently dumped all my hot wallet coins into oblivion, so no more pughing of trading volume.
Anyway the truth is there is no interest in this coin. And it makes no sense to just keep it up for the hope that things will change, so maybe i will contact Yobit if the interest is rising in the future.

3. I have included WLC into the coinomi wallet. A very small and fast wallet with that you can control many Altcoins at the same time. I will contact coinomi, so they include it hopefully in the standard version, so it is updated automatically. 4. Next i will work on POS for WLC and a good blockexplorer to show transactions in real time and also calculates demurrage online.

Sorry for asking... but does this coin work almost like a "grant system'' - meaning - honest, registered users(like myself) is given a certain amount
of coins each month into his/her registered wlc address (as long as they stay active)?

Yepp, thats the deal. And its refinanced through the time dependend degration of coins (demurrage). So there is no inflation (only the normal crypto volatility) but circulation of money.

Yes you can. 

An unconditional (basic) income is per design open for everybody. The system is constructed for 300.000 participants at the moment.
Because there is the possibility to create several accounts for one person, if the coin will become mainstream at some point the idea is to cooperate with some bigger company (e.g. Kraken) to give everybody that has registred with a passport a unconditional income.

If more than 300.000 people join the network there are 3 choices:

1. Increase Max coin. - This would devaluate the currency.
2. Increase Demurrage.
3. Decrease payout.

Since the demurrage (negative interest rate) of ~20% is already high, there are 8 decimalplaces and more participants normally means more value of the system, my favorite solution is to decrease payout as there is no adjustment of the code needed.

C-Cex is up for delisting WLC again. This time i would lose a lot more WLC due to lower price to reach trading volume of 6BTC.
So i will not try to keep WLC listed.

I know what you mean. But the point is that most that are interested in cryptocurrencies are not into the idea of a basic income.
And those that are interested in a basic income think using cryptocurrencies is a bad idea. The people i talked to are still trying to apply a basic income to fiat money, but this is as promissing as bringing a basic income to bitcoin.

The reason why the payout is only 1 WLC is that the currency is meant to be spreaded to every human worldwide. Keeping in mind that we are 8 bn people 1 WLC is still too much, but i used it as a good start.

The price mirrors the interest in the currency. Like Bitcoins price was less than a cent its worth was much, much higher. At the moment there just seems to be no big demand. I try my best to make it one of the top currencies but without users that actually use the currency my hands are tied.

And i do not think that the idea is not interesting in principle. The missing circulation of money was one of the main reasons for the last crisis and it will also be one of the main reasons for the next. I can only hope that the people are then not only complaining about politics but start to act.

So if you think that the idea is not usefull IMHO it is at the moment just because a lack of interest. If you have an idea how to accumulate more participants and users you are always welcome. Otherwise i can only ask you to wait for the idea to grow.
