Just theory either way. Even if big bang is true, it has 0 effect on we conduct our life.

Stephen Hawkings has been doing a flip flop on this theory. At first they existed now they don't. He said the same thing about God too. Fascinating subject.
Hawkings never flip flopped on whether or not black holes exist. He made a bet back in the 70s against his own belief and his own theory, but that was in his words "an insurance policy". If it turned out black holes did indeed exist, he would pay some other scientist a yearly subscription to Penthouse magazine. And he did. If he was wrong about his theory, at least he would have received a penthouse subscription as consolation for years of wasted work. If anything, it was a joke. He never changed his mind on whether or not black holes exist, he did change his mind (and conceded another bet) about whether or not black holes destroy information. While he conceded that bet, its far from certain he was actually incorrect on that one.

I actually agree. WHile the math is way over my head, something about it just feels right. Hope evidence for it is found.

See? That's the trouble with you kids. They spotted something with telescopes, and decided they were going to call them black holes. The fact is, they don't really know what they spotted. ROFL. You really dont have a clue, do you? Here is what really happened: einsteins equations of special relativity predicted there would be black holes, even though that seemed insane at the time. It took years to figure that out and understand and decades more to actually find evidence that proved their existence. Thats how science works: you formulate a theory, then figure out ways to prove or disprove the theory. If you can not prove or disprove it, its not science. BTW by now the evidence is overwhelming, from lensing effects to the gravitational pull they exert on nearby stars and entire galaxies. No one sane doubt they exist. BTW bis, you cant see a black hole with a telescope. Duh. Einstein did his work with simple adding machinges and paper calc. He NEVER would have been able to figure out how to use a computer; barely could tie his shoes, if he happened to get them on the correct feet. Einstein was an antagonist of quantum mechanics in many ways. He was good at what he did. We are moving onward and upward.

stopped reading there... there is almost zero credibility in this "math" After all, even Madam Curie was poisoned to death by the radiation she worked with.

That serious scientists don't publish their research in the Daily Mail.

Well, let's wait the review from her peers. Aww, you science types are such a buzz-kill. With you logic and double blind studies. Your ruining the magic.

For those who want a nice initiation on what the paper is really about (ie, the black hole paradoxes), this is a good lecture: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_8bhtEgB8Mo&list=UUYeF244yNGuFefuFKqxIAXwParticularly the second part with sean carrol.

I love that, even the Daily Mail commenters think this is a load of bullshit LOL You do realise that they spotted black holes with fucking telescopes and probes right? They didn't even need to do mathematics to prove they exist, I love religious people like BaDecker, the more science proves them wrong the more desperate they get. The best part is the uneducated lay people arguing about topics they are most ignorant about. Do they not see a problem with this? Here's a hint. Math is a model, an approximation to reality. Take a simple example, the inverse square law, 1/r^2. Works perfectly well for orbits, but set r to zero... OH NOES!!! REALITY IS BROKEN!! The earth just lost all mass because I put a zero in the wrong spot!! Enter a new model, dirac delta, reality works again...no jesus required.

Stupid science and fundamental research. "What good is quantum mechanics?" said idiot to Schroedinger. Enjoying your transistors?

IMO Black holes do exist, they are the seeds for next big bang... and when people find out what the world is really about, what's the big question to answer, then the black holes will unite, the hole world will be whole, and next big bang to happen.
