IIRC Ocminer set up a block explorer. I was in class, I will look into the source now and find ocminer's explorer.

The Block Explorer from the Dev probably only counts POW blocks

I can say with all certainly that bittrex would have gone through the source code before adding it. Nothing wrong here.
