GhostCoin OFF at October 20th AdamantiumCoin ON at October 20th : Both with customizable hidden block.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=831900

Scamcoin, i told you guys before the hidden premine discovered, and don´t try to make a takeover or that shit, this coin is dead.

Don´t invest anymore in new coins with anon devs, stick to the stable coins (BC, VRC, XC ETC) buy at bottoms and sell on tops.

yea but those stable coins are just that...stable. No money in stability. People love gambling on volatility. This is crypto, where greed is blinding and people want to speculate on making that fast cash, even knowing that 95% they are buying scams. Key is to sell before the scam gets out, or 'devs' and whales dump.

Maybe he is, but if Bob is saying there's going to be a comeback then I'm interested in buying cheap. Just wondering if there was anything planned for him to say that.

It's a risk as long as it's not based on obvious reasons why should the price goes higher with the absence of the dev. and his so called plans.

but anyway, if you will buy then buy with what you can afford to lose in case no pump will occur.

I have never been to this thread but found this coin via

Bittrex Catches Ghostcoin Scam And Shuts Down Market

Quote from Article "
This year we saw the Summer of Scams in Altcoin City.
New coins were launching at an alarming rate, and many of them were created by serial scammers who lived to feast on the innocent.

Quote from Article "
Ghostcoin Releases Too Many Coins
There was almost a sense of helplessness when it came to dealing with scammers. After all, since cryptocurrency is peer to peer and decentralized, who gets to decide if something’s a scam or not?
In the last few month’s there’s been a hardening on that stance. Investors have been demanding a lot more proof from coin Devs and the number of launches and scams slowed down to a trickle compared to the tsunami in June and July.
Yesterday, Ghostcoin was automatically flagged by Bittrex for having too many coins in the wallet. This simple check is very helpful because it can stop the fraud before it becomes too large. This is important because stopping the crook from getting away with the ill-gotten funds is a dis-incentive for them to continue scamming.
Bittrex discovered a massive influx of coins into the wallet to the point where the total on the exchange exceeded the total coin supply. Once they did, they shut down the markets. At that point, people who have invested in the coin faced a total loss. However, the amount of the loss could have been greater if they had let the influx of coins continue. More and more participants would have rushed into the market, buying the bogus coins and giving their hard-earned BTC to the scammer.
Shutting down a market like this is not a perfect solution, but it definitely helps to minimize losses. The only safeguard against being scammed in the altcoin market is total abstinence.
Investing in or mining new altcoins is risky. Even with safeguards like the so-called ‘Proof of Dev‘ concept, there’s nothing that guarantees a coin will rise in value. The whole system of earning profits trading altcoins is predicated on a flux of volume pushing the price up on a small total coin supply. In January, it was common to see coin counts in the billions. Now many coins release with total coin counts in the millions. This means it only takes a few hundred BTC in order to sop up the supply. With shortened PoW periods, new altcoins are literally built specifically for the pump and dump market.
Leave No Trace
At that point, trading is merely a game of musical chairs. If the music stops, and you’re left holding, you get the bag.
The biggest danger is that something like what happened with Ghostcoin happens. The music stops and there’s no way to recover so your bag becomes virtually worthless.
That’s why people need to risk only funds that they can willingly afford to lose. It’s inevitable that anyone who plays the new coin launches will eventually run into a Ghostcoin now and again.
Interestingly enough, the Ghostcoin Dev has re-appeared and claimed that this disaster was not his fault. Ironically, his custom title at Bitcointalk is ‘leave no trace.’
In any event, the Ghost Protocol has been initiated with trader’s money. Be careful out there and keep your wits about you.
Thanks for stopping by and reading. If you have any comments, leave them below. You can also rate and review Bittrex now in our Cryptocurrency Directory." END

Yes but it was an associate of the Dev who created the extra coins. This article makes it sound like the current Dev is the culprit which is not the case at all.
However in saying that his lack of visibility here is not encouraging. No idea why he isn't showing up..
I believe the coin still has a future. I know Im not alone in that thinking - but I guess we will have to wait and see if the dev turns up

+1 for future.  i know sounds crazy but given what the dev did to save this coin, i don't think he's abandoning it.  if anything there's prob work going on behind the scenes to get this coin going again.  i was shocked when i saw it recover from bombing...the going rate on bter is pretty good too (well it was, haven't checked in awhile) and there's volume as well (again, there was, haven't checked lately).  anyways, all in due time

ANNOUNCEMENT -- DEVELOPMENT UPDATE

We just want to let everyone know that the devs are not dead, but have just been busy in their personal lives, GhostCoin will be moving forward. There is a new startup that is offering to create mobile apps and other development work for free in order to build a reputation and has reached out to a number of altcoins in order to build a reputation. So far we are pleased with the development of the mobile app and we will be posting frequent updates in the coming days! Again we want to apologize for the hiatus, we have been busy behind the scenes trying to source talent to develop the mobile wallet, anonymity, and other tech and so far we are extremely pleased with the offers we have received!

So here's the breakdown:

  • We're not dead! Just very busy working on the new releases and soon-to-be-announced updates!
  • The mobile wallet and other projects ARE IN DEVELOPMENT, we are extremely pleased with the results and will be posting progress updates in the coming days.
  • In case you missed it, the new website as well as the block explorer are now live: you can view the website at http://ghostcoin.info and the block explorer at http://crawler.ghostcoin.info

We want to thank everyone for their endurance, things seem to be looking up and will only get better from here, there will be more posts in the coming days with development progress updates!
