First of all i need to give you all my apology that I’ve not been around much lately, a lot has changed in my real life over the last 6 months. But I have never forgotten XWC.
I made a promise in April 2014 that i intend to keep for Whitecoin: as long as there is a community for this wonderful coin, I’ll be around to help where I can. And thankfully with me a few other people

Most of the Whitecoin investors and followers know the history of our coin, and also that we did not develop the original code base but just took over and maintained the coin and created projects for it.

Well now it’s time to move XWC to a higher level, we have gathered the funds with our crew to create a new Whitecoin Source code with the latest standards. This will allow us to create faster and better updates in near future!.
The downside of this whole story is that we need to create a new blockchain, this is where we are in contact with Bittrex to help us host a coin-swap. It’s not the most ideal solution to choose, but we needed to make this decision.  
It has given us much discussions the last few weeks in developer chat. The wallet is already close to done and are awaiting information from Bittrex.

We intend to keep the amount of coins the same, so it would be a 1:1 coin swap. Although some parameters will be changed to make the coin better and more to our liking. Coins that are not being swapped in a given time will be send to a dispose address never to be retrieved again using OP_RETURN.

We will come soon with more details once we got all the things sorted out and will keep you informed as much as possible through many channels (BCT / Website / Twitter / Reddit etc.)
After we have this thing going we will create a new website first for Whitecoin so we have the most important things in one place and where it can shine all it’s glory.

For now it's important to have everybody on the right chain, as it seems there are 2 now. It would help if many users have there wallet open with the folowing blockchain and let it stake. The more wallets we have for now the better the blockchain works.
Close your wallet, Make a backup of the folder %APPDATA%\Whitecoin and place these files in it. After that you can start it up again.

Unfortunately your assumption is correct.. As that message says it was a necessary step to take ensure the survival of XWC and unfortunately some did miss out.

Coinomi mobile wallet funding goal reached!



Congratulations to all contributors and members!

We have been thrilled with the response from the Whitecoin community members to donate towards our goal of being added to Coinomi! We are extremely excited to confirm that Whitecoin will soon be part of their multi-coin & multi-asset mobile wallet.

Together we raised: 281927.63777776 XWC for the Coinomi wallet in just a matter of days!

This is a great step forward for the Whitecoin community, illustrating that with our combined efforts new heights can be reached helping to build and improve Whitecoin in to the future. The Coinomi wallet will create flexibility to every user keeping your Whitecoin on the go and being a fundamental stepping stone to utilising Whitecoin in day-to-day transactions. Coinomi are currently also building a desktop wallet which is in its beta stage and an iOS wallet coming soon, to further improve usability for all users.

New v2.2.0.0 Wallet release – 23/11/2017

This is a non-mandatory update but includes fixes and new functionality! This will be useful for daily transactions and for both the Coinomi mobile wallet as well as use on BitShares decentralised exchange.

New features include:

• Enabled QR Code support
• Add OP_RETURN messages in transactions
• Carriersize option
• Several fixes in burn rpc

How to Update

As always, it is recommended to backup the existing wallet.dat file to a safe location if you haven’t done so already via File -> Backup wallet and saving it in a different directory with a new name.

1) Exit/stop the current wallet. (File – Exit)

2) Download and install the new wallet appropriate for your OS.

3) start your wallet.

All remaining coins on the new blockchain which were not claimed through the swap period were burned.

This was done to ensure that the process was transparent and that no inside profiteering occurred.

I hope you can understand the upgrade was done as a necessity to keep XWC alive and we do empathise that this has had a negative outcome for some, but we feel this was the best course of action as otherwise it would have meant a negative outcome for everyone.

Whitecoin now live on Coinomi multi-asset wallet



We are excited to announce that Whitecoin is now live on the latest Coinomi wallet V1.7.10

Following our incredibly successful fundraising campaign to have a mobile wallet with Coinomi where the Whitecoin community raised 281927.63777776 XWC we are now live on the Coinomi platform!

The Coinomi wallet can be downloaded from the Google Play Store

The addition of the Coinomi wallet will help to progress Whitecoin as a currency which is usable in daily transactions. We are now aiming to be integrated in to either Changelly or ShapeShift to allow users to purchase Whitecoin directly from the Coinomi wallet and hope that the community will again be able to support us in making this a reality, more details of this campaign will come soon!

A big thank you to all Whitecoin supporters who donated this month, it has been a resounding success!

November was the first month that we have run a formalised donation program. We have been overwhelmed by the response from the community and your support has helped us achieve new grounds. This first month of donations has shown that the community behind Whitecoin is strong and wish to help us progress forward to make Whitecoin more usable, accessible and to implement the improvements which will help build us in to the future. We are Proud to announce the Whitecoin Summit in China 2017



In just a few days from now the 2017 Whitecoin summit in China will commence!

The summit will be an opportunity for our long standing development team to meet face to face with both the new emerging Chinese development team and Whitecoin supporters in China.

This coin is so interesting to me.  I bought $5 worth as one of my very first crypto purchases a few months ago because they were cheap. Since then I watched the darn coin moon. I have become a serious trader spending 8 hours a day but I never bought back in.  I just this one lucky guess I made super early on take off.  Finally a few days ago I bought about .2 BTC worth.  Today I see I am up 63%    Okay time to take this one seriously now......   I just added another .25 BTC to my position.  I hate buying at ATH but this one seems to have a lot of potential and a very active development team.  Working with China seems huge too.  If you were me would you get even more right now ?  I easily could but I am trying to control myself.
