the longer this is delayed, the less options will be available

1. XWC

updated list of possible currency codes:

XWC - ISO standards compliant - WC taken from WhiteCoin
XWH - ISO standards compliant - WH taken from first two letters of WhiteCoin
XWT - ISO standards compliant - because it goes along nicely with Bitcoin's XBT code
XAL - ISO standards compliant - AL taken from first two letter of Albus which is latin for "white" - same naming convention as GOLD which has currency code XAU (from latin "Aurum" for Gold)
WC - not ISO standards compliant - also has a negative EU/ASIA stigma (water closet/toilet)
WTC - not ISO standards compliant - also has negative USA stigma (world trade center)

edit: unfortunately XAN is already used by another alt
so XAM which is free
XAM - ISO standards compliant - AM taken from first letters of Albus and Moneta which is latin for "white" and "coin" - same naming convention as GOLD which has currency code XAU (from latin "Aurum" for Gold)


we could maybe even get some unofficial voting going on here in this thread to test the waters, see whats the sentiment of community:

1. account older than 5 months
2. to keep it simple, use (like) for one or more currency code options
3. ranking - sorted by sum of (like) votes for each option

I like XAL.  Let's pick one and also will need to make a master list of people, sites and the like to update.

I'd throw my vote towards XWC purely for it's simple and logical nature.

XAL would be my fall back as I think it has some nice sophistication, history and as stated has the latin connection which is a western culture standard.

I would vote for WC (no change at all), but if the "X" is really necessary then lets use XWC.

Also think about the Stigmata we loose when we change the name cause of the vault at the beginning. Here is a great Community for a great coin. I still think that the coin is still heavily undervalued. And Latein sounds also very good. Sorry for my bad english

Thanks for commenting...  I agree that the coin is heavily undervalued...   I for one think that XAL is confusing, and XWC is just more simple.  BUt, I'm a pretty simple minded guy

Pretty much the same feeling there malbee, XAL is cool and fine as long as you already know that you're dealing with WC..
If you've never been involved with WC I think it creates a small barrier to entry into the coin and community.

A bit of Occam's Razor I think is appropriate 'the simplest explanation is the best' (paraphrased there)

so, dare I say it but I think we're in a pretty good place to go ahead and change to XWC, not much seems to have changed opinion wise over the weekend... is it just making the effort to let all the parties know that this is the new acronym for WC?

Working with cryptoseo to get whitecoin.info updated first to reflect XWC then will begin notifying our crypto partners.  Will appreciate tweets and follow ups to sites once we reach that point.  Will update here as we progress!
