Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

Hi, we've just finished reviewing 500 altcoins and we've assembled a list including information about which ones have working block explorers (among other things).

That's not the main purpose of our ANN topic, but I noticed this thread and I figured I could link our ANN in case our list could be useful to you here.

Hi,

I really could appreciate this,

Emphasizing and making it clear that in our parameters to define a status of a coin the factor working block explorer is not a determinant, On my the opinion  at the present time the mechanism must be very fast to define the global status for now as   it has been resulting on here. Gradually on near future the job could be more easy with less coins on the way. For now I'll take a look at this list.

Thank you.

We found almost 200 coins at CoinMarketCap that don't have explorers.  These are supposed to be the coins that AREN'T dead.

I think if people realized how many coins have been abandoned, they might wake up.  If a coin doesn't have 1 person who will run an explorer or pay a small amount for explorer hosting, then there's not 1 person in the world who cares if that coin dies.

Exactly,
That is, Many peoples are wake up already, But unfortunately is not so on new players, However this bring the opportunity of a game more fair for theirs, For now BCT could be a example of that cleaning process
to peoples can see that on crypto not all is scam. As I say previously, If coinmarketcap want keep as another icon they will need decrease drastically its listed coins, But that is another history for now.

Edit:

I will sort your list with 200 coins of coinmarketcap and I will add this on the less time possible on here to define status of them.

Yes and Not, Please let me say it with a couple of analogies on the real world an artist dont can use the same that another, Another example nobody can use the name Microso...... IB.......  Orac.......Goo......
Etc. The same could apply to crypto for a very simple reason to avoid confusion.
