Well I got the final answer from C-Cex. They refuse to budge. Here is their last response:

2014-12-12 05:42:49 C-CEX support
0.5 BTC is a fee I have to pay to technitian for stopping 2 daemons, setting them on maintenance on exchange, extracting keys, importing keys, running both again, checking sync, activating them on exchange, testing. It is not about wallets on normal computer. It is exchange and everyting is much more complicated.

So I guess I will no longer use/recommend them.

I'm not quite understand but..
Do they really need to stopping the daemons and put their exchange into maintenance mode to obtain a single private key?

Nice system you got there, C-CEX..

sounds like they lose tons of money any time they have to fix a problem. reaaalllyyy??? Wink
i would like to hear more about the hidden costs of running an exchange and how much those greedy "technitians" charge for fighting the daemons.

i was sent the same response. not sure why they would have to get 'technitians' to stop the daemons and 'resync' as i've never had to stop a daemon to import a private key.

well, i sent the 2 mill. it's a shame that's how they handled it.  Undecided

hi there all, there seems to be an easy stuff up at C-CEX. i bought 8.8 million coins on coinswap, sent them to my doged wallet, then to C-CEX.
the problem is they have dogecoindark (DD) at C-CEX and they are only 3 spaces apart on the deposits list.
long story short, this is the DOGECOINDARK (DOGED) wallet they gave me DD=DQEAnxc7gVMN2NNJpL1FaTBM518gkJGVaT

and this is the DOGECOINDARK (DD) wallet they gave me                    DOGED=DQMY8eP5eJTn94k8SLrmqAD8qz58DFnJwe
i saw the DQ at the beggining of the address, and failed to realize it was actually DD Cry
is there anything i can do to fix this mess Embarrassed
thank you in advance to any responses.

C-CEX also asked me to pay .5 BTC to recover 8.8 million DOGED.

C-CEX admit it is possible. here is the response i got.

2014-10-29 04:33:49 C-CEX support
Theoretically it can work. We can order this service for You. Since it is complex procedure of managing 2 online exchange wallets It will cost us 0.5 BTC but we can't promice positive result.
2014-10-29 04:55:41 breebob
well then no don't worry about trying to retrieve the coins. i definately don't want to add costs to your procedure. i will accept the coins are gone. the fact that i know it can be done is what drove me. again do not worry about retrieving the doged coins as i do not wish to add cost's to you. that is not fair for you to pay extra for my error. thank you for getting back to me.

the fact that i knew it was possible was the reason i dug my heels in. I just didn't think it would be that expensive to do.
i will not make other people pay for an error i made.

Thank you to all who posted.

c-cex DOGED is working properly and there is alot of volume. if you sent

coins to DD instead of DOGED on exchange, they are probably gone, but

you can try asking c-cex admin. always double check where you send coins.

congrats guys for making it to number 1 again on c-cex =]

im currently working on android wallet, and then tor wallet, and enjoying our trip

to the dark side of the moon =]

And again... nice job dev!!

could u put this on the OP from this topic?

done!   =]

and to the post above that one, that is true. if c-cex can pull the private key from the wrong coin's blockchain
that u sent the coins to by accident, they can extract them. that's a fact.

hope all is well in DOGED land, and im glad we were able to release the dark node so quickly!

dark side of the moon, soon...

yeah i'm not too familiar with their policies for sending coins to the wrong wallet. that really stinks!

ALWAYS make sure when sending coins, that you have the correct coin and correct addresses!

also... GREAT NEWS!

we now have another official DogeCoinDarkNode up! we have THE FASTEST darknet wallet service in the crypto community right now.

connect=dogedx7lb4ri7wwi.onion

congrats everyone!

Hi there, please help me my dogecoindark coins (doged) went to the wrond dogecoindark (dd) i think. surely the wallet should recognise that dd is not compatible with doged addresses. can you please help me. thank you for your time

2014-10-27 11:18:40 C-CEX support
DD and DOGED are different coins. It is not compatible. Coins sent to wrong wallet are lost.

So C-CEX are SCAMMERS in total they STOLE 9.3 million DOGED coins from me and told me coins are lost.
I WILL NEVER USE C-CEX AGAIN.
so to all shibes BEWARE OF C-CEX IF THEY CAN ROB YOU THEY WILL.

Hey, first this has nothing to do with this coin. U made a mistake to send ur coins to the wrong coin wallet on c-cex.
2nd, this is ur fault, not from the exchange, u send ur coins to a other coin wallet what is just not possible.
3th, maybe u can create a topic about c-cex.. Still dont know why u post it here.

Example: i want to buy a computer at dell.com and i send my money to apple.com... I can not call dell.com scammers, its MY fault.

I was basically told stiff titties by everyone here back in October when C-CEX tryed to scam me .5 Btc for 8.8 million DOGED that were sent to DD by mistake. they delisted DD the very next day.
So why now so helpfull when someone looses 2 million DOGED. How quickly people forget..!

you never told us they asked you for .5BTC

(the fact they asked that much to type 2 words and under 1 minute of work is pretty unfair, imo)

I started a new thread called C-CEX unwilling to help back in October. i didn't want to clutter up this thread with bickering. especially after i was basically told bad luck.
So would people have been more helpfull if i had stated that C-CEX wanted .5 BTC to recover my 8.8 million DOGED. When the feeling i got from here was stiff titties. just check the posts on page 19/20/21

@endoffiat
i remember it now.
you are right, weird policy of them to punish users for mistakes and to refuse to help if they could.

so it's more than 10+M DOGED already lost in the C-CEX graveyard.

i was playing a bit devil's advocate and tried to find a good reason for 0.5btc charges but damn. this is mean.

exchanges go more and more overboard with their F* YOU attitudes...

Someone should post about this coin here: https://www.reddit.com/r/DogeChinese/

Surely Chinese ppl would like to hide their IPs?

anyone else see this? pretty crazy out there.. not sure how we're still at 1 or 2 sat.. must still be coins leftover from before the last halving..

right now its not profitable to mine and sell for less than 4 or 5 sat, or you'd be losing money rather quickly.. ill look into building a calculator on the website.

I read on twitter the p2pconnects.us will interview you? Someone selling at 2,3 satos at C-CEX definitely has early coins and is slowly selling them all. after it finishes I see a major price hike.
