I'm on a Mac. What is the best way to unzip the blockchain zip file and get that into the folder where the wallet runs from?

I have been tracking this project for a while now. Back on July 11th they announced that PoSA3 has been completed. good news! Audit report came out Aug 5th with some audit issues. good news! It is now Jan 26th, 2016. No real progress since. (dev team changed, but no work has been seen to date) Updates are non-existing and lack substance. I have a feeling that the project is too complex and the audit issues cannot be fixed in the real world use. Donations for the promotional campaigns has been emptied a long time ago with no PR.
