Lesson #1:

NEVER leave any funds on ANY exchange...

The reason people leave funds on exchanges is to avoid the other risks:
--that coins will get stolen from wallets on their insecure desktops/laptops (malware, etc.)
--that the coin they got is a blipcoin or scamcoin that could dump on an exchange at any moment, so they have to have coins ready to sell at a moments notice, just in case.

There's risk everywhere in these altcoinmarkets, and there are no immediate, easy solutions.

I withdrew most of my funds few months ago, when first bad news about Mintpal started to arrive. Therefore, not much was lost, only 350 UTC, and a bunch of other worthless coins.

That is just their registered office, there will be no-one there from Moolah

The old Mintpal was on City Road, London. Well at least is what someone from them told me.

Lesson #1:

NEVER leave any funds on ANY exchange...

lesson #2. dont trust moolah. cleared all my funds off mintpal before the takeover because i knew moolah is dodgy. good to see it was a decision that proved to be in all wise. vericoin's alliance with moolah is probably the reason the price is being held down. mintpal has been driving down the price of vrc to generate a loss in confidence. i suggested decentralized exchange for vrc and all of a sudden moolah promised to adjust their account staking and convinced vericoin team that it wasnt necessary. because obviously, if vrc goes decentralized then they wont have enough coins to manipulate the market.

OK, so far 22 people have reported ~62 BTC missing in total.  Total in BTC is using Oct 1st prices for the different coins.

There were 70,000 users 'migrated' by Moolah (nice way of putting it?) so based on this sample size there will be a lot more missing coins.

Please help spread the word around and lets see...

I can't say that I am surprised. The public backlash following the atrocious handling of the v2 launch has tarnished the brand name as well as the people behind it.

For a while, there was some strong community support especially on the IRC defending the actions of Moolah. But clearly that was short lived.
