When I first started on BCT I would've definitely answered "YES!!!!" If someone offered me money for my account but now that I see the hardwork and dedication that is put into building the trust and activity of a member on here, I don't think I could sell it because I've worked so hard just to become a JR. Member lol I am dreaming of one day becoming LEGENDARY or even a HERO member but I don't really understand how to get your activity level up or what affects it increasing. But ya I don't think I would sell it though (not anytime soon) Plus I really love that I was able to get NoobKidOnTheBlock as my profile name and wouldn't wanna lose that because it's kinda my thing ya know lol NKOTB OUT!!! :p

Read this: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=178608.0And this: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=495948.0but basically you get 14 activity points per two week period. Takes about a year and a half to reach Hero status providing you make at least one post in all the two week periods.

I'm not particularly arsed about this account. I would be arsed if I was using it for trading on here or building up a specific reputation, but all I use it for is nattering.
Having said that people do seem to be using more established accounts for scamming so I wouldn't sell it, even though mine doesn't have any rep to abuse.

You can scam from any account though so I'd be very weary around here if you don't want to get scammed.

There is another question I've always had was how does one obtain a trust rating in the positive? Like what do you need to do for people to give you that kind of trust rating?

I'm going to assume that you have a higher rank account, because selling a Newbie account would be quite simple. What tends to be the going rate for selling accounts, does anyone know?

I've been in talks on it... the account has a lot of *potential* value, but it's value I have to "co-produce" with, which I don't have enough time for, now, or seem to have enough focus for. Still, the worry's there that the account might be mis-used if sold, and I feel an obligation to ensure that doesn't happen. If I knew it wouldn't be mis-used, there wouldn't necessarily be a "finality" associated with it, if I could later buy it back if I wanted without the account being molested.

Haha. Damn, someone could probably do some serious damage if they got your account. Did the people ever make any actual monetary offers? I imagine your account would be one of the most valuable here.

I don't remember exactly, but I remember getting 'partnership requests for profit' and off the table offers in the 50+BTC region. I would imagine scammers would be much interested in using my account as a ponzi front, and that's one of the reasons why I mentioned I would never ask to borrow BTC in any form.

All the lowly accounts in here that say they will never sell it, that's just bullshit. I'm willing to bet that if those guys get offered a small amount of cash or BTC, it'll get sold pretty quickly. As for my account, it'll actually never be sold, not because how long it took to build it up, but because that's just scummy activity. I believe this forum is the only one that openly allows this kind of stuff.

No I would never sell my account, I don't think it should be allowed either.
I think so too, but there is no way to prevent it. : / If they aren't sold here, they will be somewhere else. Like this, at least it's done in the open, and everyone knows about it. Problem is that account creation and selling are what some people do for a living. Not only on this forum, on lots of others too. I firmly believe that the only reason someone will pay good money for an established account is to try and scam someone for more than they paid for the account. I don't believe the rubbish that account sellers bang on about people buying established accounts so they get accepted for signature campaigns, what a load of old bollocks.

Yes, a senior member account will get you into almost all campaigns, and receiving the maximum. More than that or accounts with trust are more likely to be used to try and scam people. : / But while there is the incentive to do it and no easy way to stop it, it's at least good that everyone knows that it happens and that they should be careful even with older users.

I agree people are much more aware of it now and unless a user is active and well known then the use of escrow is a must with any buying or selling. I really don't believe anyone would buy an account with the intention of simply using it for signature campaigns, it just doesn't add up. For me the only reason people buy an account with status is with the intention of ripping someone off later.

For me the only reason people buy an account with status is with the intention of ripping someone off later. Or, as a status symbol. That said, I'll sell the Phinnaeus Gage account, currently being used as collateral, for only 20 BTC. It's the only Legendary account available on all of Bitcoinland. For only 30 BTC, I'll throw in this account and all my others (~6 total) with the exception of CoinProLite that would only be used for its intended purpose not to be posting outside its dedicated threads, and Bitcoin 100, of which would be handed over to Rassah. On top of that, I promise to not create any new accounts with the exception of one - <redacted for now, but would be disclosed> - that'll be CoinProLite, et al., related, again not posting outside dedicated threads in appropriate sections. PM me (this account) if you're seriously interested. ~Bruno Kucinskas

Besides, Phinnaeus Gage has the highest post count. (EDIT: Just seen why you asked about the Legendary aspect, for my wording was slightly skewed) BurtW has control of it, used as collateral for a loan, owing him $1,600 still. He would be ideal to use as escrow, whereupon I would be remitted the balance. I see no reason why the complete handover can't be accomplished with 24 hours, only predicated on BurtW being available, of which I have his phone number to call him if he hasn't been active of late. Rassah or Theymos would work as well for escrow.

There have been one or two Legendary's for sale but it's always hard to know whether they're legit sales or scammers. I think you could probably get a few btc for it given the account and feedback, but I wouldn't condone it. Why did you need that money anyway? Thought you had plenty of btc?

1 Btc for my newbie account sureeeee, i will sel it If you can find someone that would buy a newbie account for 1 BTC, I'd be a billionaire. It's still basically selling a good, although I don't see why some people would necessarily want an account that's got a reputable status, aside from being able to enroll in higher-paying signature campaigns

I will, if someone agreed to pay me 1 BTC every month.
Why? Get yourself up to a decent rank such as Senior and it may be possible to earn that per month from a decent campaign like PrimeDice when it returns. There was a time when people were earning 2.4 bitcoins a month which is crazy.

How exactly does one raise their rankings up to Senior and so forth? is it the amount of times you post or the different topics you post in? Does anyone know this exactly?

I will, if someone agreed to pay me 1 BTC every month.
Why? Get yourself up to a decent rank such as Senior and it may be possible to earn that per month from a decent campaign like PrimeDice when it returns. There was a time when people were earning 2.4 bitcoins a month which is crazy. How exactly does one raise their rankings up to Senior and so forth? is it the amount of times you post or the different topics you post in? Does anyone know this exactly? Your activity goes up by 14 points every two weeks or so. You don't have to post like crazy to raise it, just be present and patient and it'll get there in the end.

Many people buy accounts with higher rank to participate in the signature campaigns and get more bitcoins. I think that is the most common reason for selling accounts. Some others buy them to use in scams later. : /
