We've received everything we've ordered. Multiple bulk orders. Waiting for the 4th issue now.

Don't hold your breath!

Does it even have a deadline?

What about the secret gift?

In issue #3 there are at least 2 articles where a chunk of text is repeated. In the article about Wikispeed there is this part that is in the early part of the article and then repeated at the very end:

"We've received 13 bitcoins... THANKS..."
"Most people would scoff at the amount..."
"I am glad to have donated..."

In the article about the "other" Bitcoin logo there is a huge part at the end of the article that is a repeat from earlier. This one should really have caught someone's eye before it was printed.

Overall I'm happy with the magazine but don't forget the proofreading guys!

This comment makes me wonder what would it take for you to not be happy with the magazine, pretty or otherwise.

This comment makes me wonder what would it take for you to not be happy with the magazine, pretty or otherwise.

Well, I didn't have very high expectations to begin with. Creating a "professional" magazine, publishing it monthly and delivering it world wide is no easy task. It's not a big media company that started this, it's a few guys who had never done it before. I did not order a 12 month subscription since I thought that there was a substantial risk that 12 issues would never happen and I also thought that it would be incredibly hard to fill a monthly magainze with quality articles related to Bitcoin.

That said, I really want to encourage initiatives like this 'cause I think that it's great for Bitcoin. I'm happy to point out what can be improved but in general there is just too much negativity on this forum. I'm impressed with a lot of what they've done and I like to focus on that.

Issue 4 just arrived in The Netherlands  Grin

That was quick. We had some improvements in shipping process, it definitely works well for Netherlands. Thank you for letting us know.

Issue #4 also sports a significant improvement in print and paper quality. It feels more like a proper expensive magazine now, as compared to #2 and #3 at least.

Damn heavy too, 250g, due to significantly increased cover and text paper weight and increased to 92 page count (including covers).

BTW we have no issues #1 in stock anymore. But we might get more copies later.

However, issue #4 can be ordered at http://bitcoinmagazine.net/subscribe/ now. We have it in stock. We ship within 5 days from receipt of the order and use a slightly quicker shipping method now.

This issue is featuring interviews with Max Keiser, Mark Warden, Josh Zerlan of Butterfly Labs (with some exclusive previously undisclosed details on upcoming BFL hardware), a "top secret" report on anonymous bitcoin transactions, an article by Teri Buhl, and more. IMO #4 is our best issue so far (but #5 should be better).

Frankly, since getting rid of that Wright character we like you a lot better. If you manage to actually come to standards (monthly means monthly, copyediting means copyediting etc) who knows, we might even buy some.

Fixed your image for you Smiley

But yes, indeed it did arrive in the Netherlands. Very sturdy new plastic shipping envelope (nice!) besides the normal plastic wrap. Haven't read it yet.

Judging by the cover it will be news from two months ago.

There's a reason it's called "old media".

Bitcoin combines money, the wrongest thing in the world, with software, the easiest thing in the world to get wrong.

There's a reason it's called "old media".

But that is not why it called that of course.

Interestingly enough the News is self named. A special plural of New.

And you can have an Olds(mobile) only if you get it used.

I received in Spain from Romania: issues #2 & #3 plus 1 of the 3 extra copies of issue #1 that I had ordered, support were excellent when told about the 2 missing copies, the envelopes are a bit flimsy & could easily fall apart as there seems to be some rough postal handling along the way that leaves them ragged, one had a mud stained tear & someone had snipped off a corner (cutting corners Wink) I guess to peek at the contents, anyway they got through & I'm delighted with them - some plane reading for the visit to London tomorrow.

I still haven't received the missing 2 copies of issue #1 though, contacting support again now for the second time.

Edit: Support replied instantly & apparently they were sent out from The States 2 months ago but appear lost in transit which is very unusual in my experience, anyway they have kindly offered to re-send them FOC, excellent customer service.

No actually I did not know this. But that doesn't mean that I can't purchase something that could be very educational and perhaps worth something in the future, if there are collectors.

$20 isn't much to worry myself about.
