I wondered if coinmarketcap.com use it own wallet/explorer to calculating the cap or it would use someone else like bittrex?

AFAIK it`s a free service so I do not think they run more than 700 wallets on their servers  Smiley

They must pull the data through API`s from exchange platforms and block explorers.

For example for XST price in USD you can use our block explorer`s api: http://chainz.cryptoid.info/xst/api.dws?q=ticker.usd

Transactions must be included in a block to be properly completed. When you send a transaction, it is broadcast to miners. Miners can then optionally include it in their next blocks. Miners will be more inclined to include your transaction if it has a higher transaction fee.

you'll probably end up being stuck on a specific block, unable to get past it;
not being synced

By the way is there some crucial advantages of using a bootstrap file instead of just a blockchain snapshot?
It's taking so long to read that bootstrap Smiley

The advantage of bootstrap is just the relative speed against standard wallet installation.

It`s a long chain with more than 1,5 ml blocks and the bootstrapping may take from 12 to 24 hours according to your internet speed and location.

Yeah I noticed that. Woke up this morning and the wallet was still reading that bootstrap.
But if we used the blockchain snapshot (AppData/Stealthcoin folder) instead, it would've synced in the matter of minutes.
That's why I was asking why not use the snapshot?

Is not snapshot used by lite wallets? StealthClient does not have a lite version at this stage.

By snapshot I meant taking the contents of AppDAta/ Stealthcoin, zipping everything in there (aside from wallet.dat of course Smiley ), and sharing with others.

That's how I usually share a blockchain if someone needs it.

Ah ok, I see Smiley

I`m not a tech guy, but I do not think it will work.

Why not? I always used the same technique and it worked in 99% of cases.

Block explorer has just begun to update the bootstrap file. Thus the service will be down for some hours.

After much study about this daylight savings problem I think we don't even need the hard fork, all we need is just restart the wallet if you think your wallet is affected and on the wrong chain. My wallets with a few XST still operating normal after changed to correct time then restart, the new wallet I got from bootstrap now have the same block as the ones not do anything. I might be wrong though.

Is this the only coin that was affected by daylight savings time? I never heard other altcoins were ever effected.

I don't think daylight savings cause any problem or the coin have any problem. All my wallets have no connection because all my computers have manual change to daylight savings, that would cause no connection because the time was wrong. If changing to correct time and restart wallet it would have connection and work normal. If this coin is a large one with many staking wallets it would work without a hitch, the wallets with auto change of daylight savings would continue to work but the wallets with manual change like mine will stop and no connection. The ones with no connection need to change to correct time then restart, then it would have connections and work normal.

This is just a fault alarm? I think it could be, because of our small community and not many people staking. I hope our community growing back to larger one like the old days.

Chicken and egg there mate. I think if people saw more development progress and not an abandoned project you might see a more engaged community.
