Look on the top left under the link "Watchlist" it should say something like "Total time logged in: X hours and XX minutes."

Yes, it shows "Total time logged in: 6 hours and 51 minutes." But that information looks absolutely irrelevant when you search for some "reply" button.
Maybe if there is something like:
" Total time logged in: 6 hours out of 7 hours required to post. You posted 0 out of 5 posts in newbie section to post elsewhere. "

Although frustrating (I'm itching to join in on the Wall Observer) I do think this is a good idea. I'm sure the forum would otherwise be flooded with spammy "Buy Bitcoins cheap here NOW" posts.

Actually, I think it would be flooded with loan requests

They should really have made it so that time logged in matters more than post count. Jeez.

Omg, I had to google to find out why I couldn't post anywhere.
Perhaps the greeting email should state this fact?!

You have to browse for 4 hours and make a few posts.
If you make your post in this thread, I'll quote it on the other thread for you, if you like.
Make a few posts where? I've been browsing for about a week!

Take a look here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=15958.0Due to a mass of trolling, only established posters are able to post in non-newbie sections. You are considered "established" if you have spent 4 hours online and have made 5 posts (new topics or replies). If you have really good posts, you can post a request for preemptive whitelisting in the appropriate topic. For what I see, you only have 2 posts..

If we need to PM someone prior to newb status being revoked, is there a way to do that?
