Was looking for such a project since Zerocoin seems to be off work or at least I don't see any news on it .
Basically your project will be a .exe GUI ?? or a website ?  It would be nice if you can work with some wallet to implent this feature off-chain transactions on one the wallets directly (if It's possible of course , don't have a lot of programming knowledge )

I suggest you start with:

Read our WhitePaper
Checkout our Wiki and FAQ

If you have any more questions after that we will be here to answer them Wink

I like how big this project is thinking and how they are providing these massive use cases.  Bitcoin foundation should take note and start producing content that shows just how giant btc will be.

Feel free to send them a message here, it only takes a minute: https://bitcoinfoundation.org/contact/.
We will contact them too!  Smiley

there will be a designated wallet and front end.
and i like your idea of a local application for talking to the factom network, this is possible though I am not sure if this is planned for development.

FACTOM – SIMPLE YET CRITICAL TECHNOLOGY ON MASTER PROTOCOL

Is Factom still planning to use Omni/Master Protocol?

We are considering issuing tokens on Omni and Counterparty to be converted to Factoids on Factom at the end of the crowdsale.
We want to give our supporters more than one option to participate.
We're still exploring a lot of options. Full details to follow shortly.

Concerns:
1. Document forgery
2. Document storage
3. Human error in surveys and documents
4. Anonymity
5. Fraudulent assets

Mostly I'm concerned about monetizing sovereign land with decentralized networks. Powerful countries would more easily exploit poor nations. Land ownership requires biometric ID. I can see the benefit of decentralized record keeping like Storj and MaidSafe, but FACTOM seems susceptible to fraud. Bitcoin bloat, speed, and costs, can be addressed in the Bitcoin protocol itself. There will always be counterparty risk with human derived assets and it's best to keep them accountable.

I can see FACTOM become a documentation service like TransUnion.

Any significantly advanced cryptocurrency is indistinguishable from Ponzi Tulips.

We are planning our crowdsale for the moment. Once we have some clear guidelines and announcements have been made we can look at the rest.

Does Counterparty still destroy bitcoins?  I never liked them much after they sent a couple thousand bitcoins to their doom.

2100 destroyed BTC were exchanged automatically for XCP on a protocol level. I don't know why you wouldn't like them for that. It increased the scarcity and therefore the value of Bitcoin... Would you prefer if they raised BTC in an illegal crowdfund like 99.9% of all altcoins? How fantastically that worked out for most projects.  Roll Eyes

I'm sure many more than 2100 BTC are unspendable due to lost private keys or wallet files...

I'm a bit surprised, how so? While you have some points, this is one of the first early, but serious steps of moving off-chain and partially solving the issues mentioned.
