Status updated on ANACS website to "Shipping" so I will have grades tomorrow before they leave to me. I can not wait to see some MS-67/68's and score a free Silver!

So.. what are the results? Smiley

Grades are in, and expected they got lower. I sent in those 2 x Silvers, 2 x Copper, and 1 Goldline

I am guessing the coppers are the 2 66's.

Depends on who grades them...ICG hands out higher grades than ANACS would for these. So a MS-69 ICG is probably an MS-67 ANACS wise. Also ANACS is a more respected company #3 of the big four. ICG being #4, but the top 2 will not grade physical cryptos  Undecided

Blazed I bow down to your wisdom. You were pretty much spot on.

Really good to have a direct comparison like this though. Thanks everyone for doing this, and for doing it so openly. Really helps us all.

Well I am working with ANACS right now on a guide for grading physical crypto coins. I will have a "how to" guide with a template form supplied by them and some other info soon.

It's not a complete lose on my side either. Keep in mind these were originally MS68 from ICG. So, the MS67 is still with in +/-1 grade. So, I still get one of them back  Cheesy.

I do concede that ICG looks to be one to two grades higher than ANACS on these coins.

It's time to update this comparison between ICG and ANACS. I just got back 8 Cryptolator silver 1btc coins as crossovers from ICG to ANACS. They ALL received the same grade within one grade (all MS68 or MS69).

Here is a list of the coins that received the same exact grade from ANACS and ICG. <<5 total>>
#30 MS69 identical 4952876 http://www.anacs.com/Populations/CertVerification.aspx?cert=4952876
#56 MS69 identical 4952877 http://www.anacs.com/Populations/CertVerification.aspx?cert=4952877
#67 MS68 identical 4952878 http://www.anacs.com/Populations/CertVerification.aspx?cert=4952878
#57 MS69 identical 4952881 http://www.anacs.com/Populations/CertVerification.aspx?cert=4952881
#53 MS69 identical 4952883 http://www.anacs.com/Populations/CertVerification.aspx?cert=4952883

Here is a list of the coins that received one grade lower from ANACS: <<3 total>>
#65 MS68 drop down 1 – 4952879 http://www.anacs.com/Populations/CertVerification.aspx?cert=4952879
#54 MS68 drop down 1 – 4952880 http://www.anacs.com/Populations/CertVerification.aspx?cert=4952880
#58 MS68 drop down 1 – 4952882 http://www.anacs.com/Populations/CertVerification.aspx?cert=4952882

I hope this will put an end to this nonsense that ICG is not as good as ANACS.

Here is one more crossover I had graded and it happened to also received the exact same grade from both ICG and ANACS.

Do you break out the coin from the grading capsule to send it to the other company??
or do they accept pre-slabbed??

And nice to see some consistency in grading between the 2 companies!! Smiley

I left them in their slabs. I read on their site that they cover up the previous grade when grading crossovers, so the grader does not know the old grade. I see no reason to believe they would lie. I sent in an ANACS slabbed Casascius coin and it was regraded two points higher, so I think they really do cover up the old grades when grading them. It would have been easier for them to just say it's the right grade and send it back. I would have had to pay the same anyway.

Wait ... I did crack open one graded Cryptolator. It was that **** ANACS slabbed Cryptolator that I got back from Blazedout419. I sent it in naked and it received the exact same grade as before, MS66  Undecided. So, ANACS does seem to maintain some consistency.
