well many of us have said it is not really a 1700 watt gh/s miner

I do agree and appreciate the reviews I have seen.  I just did not see many discussing the actual 1700 issue until after deciding on the GB.  Most reviews have been talking about the undervolting rather than actual performance to spec.  Again, for just a couple of units it's not really an issue.  Now if I want to spend $10k for year end, then it would add up.

just wait about 1 more day .

the s-5 for review is on the  UPS truck as i type.

you may as well know how it tests before you order from either company.

These two are kind of the only 2 that make sense for a home miner.

You may as well wait 10-12 more hours.  it is about 3 pm   and it should arrive before 6 pm

I agree. I plan to wait until Wed to order anyway as I should have both SP20 and S5 units in hand to test by then also.

Can i get please information from few people how much is your awerage day profit with SP20 in pool mining?

I just want to hear some numbers from different user, no mater if they downclock or overclock, so beter profit to be recalculated for 1TH.
Please give data only for current diff and if possible say name of pool you use.

I need just awerage REAL numbers, i know what statistic is.

Thanks!

They earn about $6 per day before electricity costs.

Shure, but i want to see what is difference from small or big pools, how pool luck changes profit...

Well in the past month my earnings for 1 TH/s on BTC Guild fluctuated from less than 0.004 to over 0.016 BTC a day before operating costs. According to the pool's own stats (https://www.btcguild.com/index.php?page=pplns) the earnings for the last 30 days are 93.7% of the theoretical earnings. I am running a combination of mostly SP20s, SP30s and Neptunes (and a few S3+), but it doesn't really matter what machine produces the hashes as long the number of rejected and duplicate shares is insignificant. So maybe you are better off asking your question in the pools section.

In the current difficulty level, at Slush's pool I'm getting about 0.01783 per day with about 1.4 TH.  You can look up the pool luck in the pools thread.

Cheers

As long as you're with a decent sized pool, earnings will be very similar over a period of time. Luck will cause fluctuations but that should even out over time.

Considering the SP20 has the USB port on it, can I run a USB wireless router through that port to connect to my home network or is the wired connection required?

My GB SP20s arrived earlier today, making a total of 6 now, and after a little bit of underclock tinkering I'm really happy with the results.

All are set to the same settings on the latest 2.5.61 firmware.

Fan Speed 20
Start Voltage 0.66
Max Voltage 0.665
Max Watts 120

#1) 1076 ghs
#2) 1013 ghs
#3) 1040 ghs
#4) 1051 ghs
#5) 1073 ghs
#6) 1084 ghs

All units stable after an hour of hashing.

The S3s are now switched off for good, and this little set-up now saves me around 800W and produces much more hash rate.

Apart from the power efficiency, what I really like is the ability to increase my total hash rate instantly if required (when BTC goes up again  Roll Eyes)

Of course, there is still room to underclock more should I need to.

yeah while 1700 is hard 1550 is pretty easy.
that feature is win for the sp20 over the s-5
the two miners are very interesting to compare.

Impressive.
With only 48/42C exhaust, you can also drop the fan to 20 easily while keeping the volts and the watts.
All you need is to have all chips temp stably below 115C.
Is there a reason to have max voltage so much higher than start? I thought that optimal is 5 mV difference.

Anybody know where to download SP20 firmware?  It shows in the gui that you can update from file.  After going down to 2.5.12 and now my machine thinks its a Dawson, I would like to reload the correct firmware.  You don't get those options after installing the 2.5.12.

I found the tech blog and how to create a recovery sd.  Except after doing it, noticed it was a micro SD slot.  Had to head home, so was hoping I could just load a correct firmware version from file since I can do that remotely.  Haven't been able to locate their firmware files on their website or github yet.

Thanks.

one of the webGIU pages is 'firmware update' or similar. press the automatic button and it should be rebooted on the new FW within a few minutes

24" PCI-E cables with 16AWG wires and stripped ends - great for server PSU mods, best prices https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=563461

I wish.  With the downgrade to 2.5.12, it changed to thinking it was an SP10.  So I'm stuck in the SP10 firmware selections.
