I can't believe I didn't know about BGR until today.
I had some great laughs when I found out about bgr and reading their threads ... Mined myself quitte a few of them tbh Just because the dev is such a positive person I would mine it if it were x11 or some other GPU algo. I wish there was an x11 weed coin to mine. A cryptonote/cryptonight weed coin would be really cool also. CannabisCoin is x11 but I wouldn't really call x11 GPU minable CannabisCoin is what I'm mining. Is there already x11 ASICs going on them? Well then I wish there was a Neoscrypt, qubit, groestl or fresh coin to mine. I have all these GPUs and not sure what to do with them. Right now I mine any good coin, sell them and buy coins in the weed niche.

I'm not sure what it is. FPGAs, optimised mining software, ASICs or whatever but judging from the hashrate and distribution on some of the 'x' coins at launch, it's pretty obvious that it isn't a level playing field. For example look at this newly launched Bluntcoin and the hashrates on one of the pools. https://i.imgur.com/oRO2ajV.jpgConsider that a 280x does about 2.5mhs on x13

its rentals and asic It very much seems so. The unfairness raising from the fact that people in different financial situations have completely different capability to mine is something I'd really like to find a permanent solution to. It's not a simple issue though, and many have tried to solve it. One of the best practical solutions I've seen is the multi-algorithm approach of Myriadcoin, while pure scrypt coins are the "worst" option creating a huge gap between those who have at best their GPU while others use rental or owned devices with hundreds of Mhs. I also like the X family of algorithms since they also level the playground significantly. - Jyri -- Altcoin.Center

The Myriad approach is by far the best in my opinion. The 'x' series claim to be fairer than something like scrypt but as the picture above demonstrates, I don't think they are.

I agree about Myriad's approach being the best by a long shot. I think X is simply not given the attention it deserves. Full disclosure I thought this thread was a joke before I started reading some of it 2. x is garbage. The real sexiness of MYR is groestel and skein. 3. if you go that route you need to find two algos that are cpu only

I'm trying to turn THC into something like myriadcoins multi-algo POW mining + POS at the same time. I'm sick of scrypt only mining for it. I don't want to do a coin swap but I might have to do one. Can anyone see why the following guidelines wouldn't work or could lose transparency with the coins if I have to do a coin swap? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=880220

I would like to see Sativacoin (STV) added one day as well To the rest of this joint community, I wanted to update you on how progress is going with STV. I have been fairly active on twitter and Ccnex, Exmo.com and Crypto-Crow.com(escrow service) have expressed consideration for adding STV. I'm sure that the community following up will get them to add us. Yesterday on Askcoin Exchange we were 817th on the voting list with 0 votes and now we have risen to 87th with 101 votes, so vote away! Also CryptoDashboard.com now supports STV! Please feel free to look at the new thread for STV here as well https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=874071Hopefully together we can bring value and success to all the coins involved in this venture. Dear everyone,
since I've just had confirmation of yet another idea being stolen from me, I feel compelled to reveal more details about my plan regarding a new approach to stabilize the value of the coins participating in the alliance immediately.
As I mentioned earlier in thie thread, the idea is to develop a special coin that only exists as a means to give concrete value to the coins that are accepted to have this coin based on concrete resource as their pillar stone.
The resource in question is Finnish groundwater. It is very pure, there is plenty of it, and it is very inexpensive to "mine". The value of it is still rather high and very stable indeed.
In all it's simplicity, the idea is that one Watercoin always buys one liter of pure Finnish groundwater. The coins whose value is bound to Watercoin can also be used to purchase the ground water. The ratio of values is defined in a simple algorithm that takes into account the maximum number of each coin as well as the other technical details. A company will be established that will take care of pumping, bottling and shipping the water anywhere in the world. Shipping costs will naturally be added to the price.
I would have liked to prepare a proper presentation of the plan but since it turned out there is someone already working on a water backed coin of his own, I felt compelled to put the information out right away in order not to be accused of stealing the idea from him later on.
Please spread the word of this plan and keep the discussion going!
I am also urgently looking for investors willing to partake in establishing something truly unique, building on an honest, lawful and open basis.
Yours,
Jyri -- Altcoin.Center

Dear everyone,
since I've just had confirmation that certain person has stolen one of my ideas and implemented it on his own leaving me completely outside the equation, and since it appears the same person has also taken at least influences of the idea that is at the core of the 420 Alliance, I feel forced to reveal more details about my plan regarding a new approach to stabilize the value of the coins participating in the alliance immediately.
