Another quick question for you spondoolie,

When it says within three days,  would you like us to run them for a specified amount of time before we write the review. I am not sure how accurate a review would be if cranked out within three days. Is it ok if we RUN the device for at least 3 days first, then post the review within the week?
Yes

Here's how I see the reviews going...

Pro's:
 - It mines bitcoin.
 - It was free.

Con's:
 - Not usable outside of a data center.

/end

I am actually interested to see how each person writes a review. Having dealt with a few of the people getting units, it will be kinda cool to see how they write it up.

yeah I am a bit annoyed being short of a legend .  but make lemonade from lemons

so a shout out to the legends testing please try the killer delta  fan and over clock the unit.

I would love to see the user's show the over clock potential.  maybe a better fan for the under clock guy like my self.  for that matter maybe someone would use the super powerful monster delta fan for over clock .  it moves 25 percent more air then the stock fan.  mr teal is really handy with gear.

this is the fastest fan around.  would be the best for over clocking maybe??

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835213001&cm_re=delta_fan_120mm-_-35-213-001-_-Product

noticed this review on teh fan and HAD to post it:

Quote
Pros: 240.96 CFM of raw unadulterated airflow. If you are looking for a cat that purrs this is not for you. This baby stakes its claim as airflow champion by screaming at 62 dBA. This is its war-cry that will strike fear into the hearts of its competitors. Even that sissy vacuum you have will drop its tail between its legs and hide in a corner whimpering after it hears this monster from across the room. Sure you could buy a fan that is silent, one that conforms to the standard toy of a fan, the kind of fan that won't bite if you try to pet it. I am sure it will get along nicely with the world's propeller hats and pinwheels. Or you could get this beast of a fan that growls because everything gets too close. The kind of fan that bites if you get too comfortable with it. The kind of fan that would make a manly man grunt like 'Tim "The Toolman" Taylor' in satisfaction.

Cons: Despite it's airflow tenacity, it will not generate enough lift to make your computer fly. This is a huge con but since other computers don't generally fly I won't dock an egg.

I think all manufacturers should follow this example of sending free miners to Legendary Members.   Grin

Not exactly.  It's by randomly generated number.  From Meta:

Quote
Legendary:   Activity: the Legendary membergroup has no universal activity requirement.
You are guaranteed to become Legendary somewhere between 775 and 1030 activity,
but the exact point in this range at which you become Legendary is random

So a number of us weren't as lucky as others.

This really is a sad attempt to push miners onto the naive by those with perceived experience.  I bet that makes you all feel "Legendary", doesn't it?

Actually more like giving to people who have been around a while, not just some random person that just created an account or an account that is only a month or so old. You also don't see many Legendary accounts up for sale so lowers the chance of someone just buying the account. Activity is calculated with Min(time*14, posts), legendary accounts simply spend a lot of time on the forums, whether they have actual experience or just a lot of time is another thing.

So much bitterness.

I think it's a nice idea.  I am unfortunately not legendary so I wont be in this party, but if each one of the 10 does a review would be interesting to see.

For the record I do have a SP-20 and so far has ran great.  I am a fan.

They got solid hardware, and they are marketing the right way IMO. Most experienced miners know what they are getting into, and like anything its a risk with a possible reward. If BTC suddenly jumped to over 2k per BTC, then the mining is worth it. So its a growing market still with the blockchain tech being a huge part of it.

At any rate these guys have done right by the community. So I welcome the reviews by the legendary contributors.

"amtminers scam joshua zipkin scammer"
-Joshua Zipkin leaked skype chats http://bit.ly/1s7U2Yb
-For bitcoin to succeed the community must police itself.

You call it marketing, the rest of us will call 10 posts of reviews about the same product "SPAM".

=)

10 reviews from different people, I think it would be better 10 reviews should be able to get a bunch of honest reviews out of it. If 10 different people all give a good review, then its a good product. Currently "review" units are sent to a very limited / select group of people. I personally would like to see reviews come from different people.

Depending the application, the 210CFM QFR1212GHE will actually move more air than the 240CFM AFB1212GHE. Like a lot of fans tailored to moving air without restriction they have a shelf on their pressure-airflow curve, and once you get to around 0.5"H20 they quickly lose any advantage they have over a fan designed to really push air. The downside is the QFR is louder, spins faster and uses more power.
