Ok. I didn't ask for it, but one day I got an email that said "Want a unit?" ? So of course I said yes. Okay, so maybe I asked for an older unit a few months back, but only one went out, and that didn't go to me, so I forgot about it.

If I remember correctly, Guy did not even ask for a review. I did not even notice the threads as I have not been reading these forums lately due to the coming holidays. But when I looked around, I saw all these other people receiving units, and doing reviews, and I thought, maybe I should do the same.

Anyway, I got the unit a few days ago, had to pay some minor duties and taxes to the DHL delivery people.

Here are preliminary pictures.

I'm trying to dig up my cables and power supplies, I still have a 1000 watter so I'll go try that, probably this weekend. Or tonight.

To be continued ...

It's not for sale. Yet. I do have to keep my end of the deal and that's a proper review.

Here's the update so far, I turned it on. It was really noisy. I had to turn it off as it would disturb everyone (it's night time in my house.) I'll turn it on again tomorrow. Maybe I can do something with the settings to lower the fan speed.

I plugged in the power, I connected it to my home network. I turned it on. The lights started blinking, and the fan sounded like a small vacuum cleaner, or hair dryer. I do not have a decibel or sound meter, but it was loud. Then the fan turned off momentarily. After a few more seconds, the fans turned on again and went like that for a minute. Then I turned it off.

Now, I didn't have time to configure it or have it hash to a pool or an account or anything, I simply turned it on. I have a watt meter so I'll go plug that in tomorrow

As for market value, I've had several offers for 2.5 BTC by PM and Email. But, I also made a promise to someone else, that if I got a SP35 Yukon, I'd let them buy it from me after I review it and run it for a week.

This is looking good, Waiting for the rest of the review, I was always a bitmain person, I like the low power option, Is it selectable or do you have to tweak? Would like your opinion on noise too.

Might nab some if they are good for my needs/space

Super easy to type it in. Hit the miner's webpage and adjust the "Maximum Voltage (0.580-0.790)" down a few hundredths. The noise is significant, but I don't mind it because I don't stay in the same room as the miners.

See I prefer a Pre-set GUI like the CCD, I would have to open one up and find out where temp sensors were and mess about with fan settings, What if someone was to put in an incorrect number by accident, Would it overheat, cause chip damage?

The noise is fairly important for me, I cant run the big beasts Y-35 due to home power usage, I have had a Lekky put in another dedicated ringer, I got quite a few S3's on it, All ways looking for better GHs to W ratio  Grin

EDIT - I think this unit is not for me, I have finished reading all the reviews people have put up (so far) and found minor irritations to me personally (OCD!), Still interested in what Dabs has to say.

No, when the temp starts getting too high, it downclocks. In fact the default settings are too high for most people and it downclocks for just about everyone. The manual settings are really there for when you want to slow it down on purpose, such as using a small PSU or maximizing efficiency.

Stats so far:

Quote
Mining Rate: 1154.14Ghs
Temp Front / Back T,B
    34 °C / 64,62 °C
Fan Speed
    10
Start Voltage
    0.645 / 0.645 / 0.643 / 0.643
Max Voltage
    0.655
Max Watts
    170 / 170 / 170 / 170

*edit* It died a few minutes later. I think the PSU can't power it at that low fan speed or something. I'll have to bring in my other PSU.

Phil said that he had troubles with that low fan speed too, he reckons 15 is OK..

Ok. I set it to 15 fan speed. When it reboots, the fans go at 100% or something. Then turns off. Then on. Then it goes to 15%. Interesting.

Can I ask you : how much do you pay for electricity * kWh ? I've also another question ( If I can ask  Cheesy)  ~ How much btc do you mine/day ?  Thanks for the attention.

Electricity here is about PHP 13 per KWH. That translates to about USD 0.30 per KWH.

I don't know how much this will mine, but if it does 1.23 TH, then we can predict 0.01568 BTC per day OR almost half a bitcoin per month. However, I'm solo mining. I might do 25 BTC if I get lucky.

that is expensive electric, mine is not far below that, however.
i think we are all just hoping that BTC price does something exciting pretty soon.
