If anyone who has had experience in BitVegas could post some words about it to verify that would be great!
I've played at BitVegas quite a few times. Almost always for play money, but a little for real bitcoins too.
My withdrawl request went through without a hitch, and the operator seems to be working hard to make it a fun place to gamble.
This is the first I've heard about the free millibits, but I'm on my way there now to check that out...
[time passes]
I can't resolve mc.bitvegas.net:
$ host mc.bitvegas.net
Host mc.bitvegas.net not found: 2(SERVFAIL)
Some technical issue? I've never had a problem connecting to it before. I can't currently connect to the website at
http://www.bitvegas.net/ either.
Edit: it seems it's a local issue. I was able to resolve the hostname elsewhere, and then connect using the IP address:
$ host mc.bitvegas.net
mc.bitvegas.net has address 192.210.236.24
Edit2: it seems the site is having DNS issues, but I was eventually able to connect, get the texture pack, grab a couple of free 0.001 BTC chips, play them up to 0.005 BTC, lose them all again, get another 0.0001 BTC chip, double it up to 0.0002 BTC and withdraw it to my wallet. Yay! The server is full of people standing around the free chip chest; kinda funny.
Edit3: I guess it might be worth mentioning that if you're having DNS troubles too, then adding these lines to /etc/host seems to fix it:
There's a host file somewhere on Windows too that you can edit, but it's hard to find. On XP is was c:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts and I've managed to stay uncontaminated with Windows since then. I expect they moved it again in Windows 7 and Windows 8 because Microsoft.
