BitFetch has died and in it's wake left a void, that void is now filled (maybe? Let me know if not) by UnTorrent.Me a simple way to convert torrents into zip downloads for bitcoin. It's easier not having to remember a password so instead just bookmark your secret url and your account is all set. Pricing is 0.0005 BTC for 1 GB of download credit with the simple requirement of only 1 confirmation. -- I really don't like writing ANN's and such so if anyone would be willing to write a better one I can offer you free download credit or a direct bitcoin payment, PM me with an offer. -- Disclaimer: Only download content for which you have the legal right to, such as a Linux distribution or the public domain Night of the Living Dead from Archive.org

The Bitcoin software, network, and concept is called "Bitcoin" with a capitalized "B". Bitcoin currency units are called "bitcoins" with a lowercase "b" -- this is often abbreviated BTC.

Nothing in particular, more whether there is desire for such a service and the dl speed you achieve since my internet is not the best.

Also my upload is really bad so if one of these services allowed you to upload you're own files and use it as a seed on a private tracker I would pay for that. It would be a nice feature for advanced users.
At that point you are really going to need to look into a seedbox

To those who may use a system such as this:
How often would you download a torrent? What's the average size of the torrents you download? What's the largest torrent you think you'd download? What would you be willing to pay for such a service?

I really cannot answer these questions in public^^
However: Unpacking the torrent to allow streaming from the site would be awesome.

0.001 BTC per GB seems high. real-debrid has torrent support now and also do 129 file hosts. I should have qualified that figure by specifying that's what I was happy to pay for the blazing fast speed of BitFetch, back when BTC was ~$200-$250. I'd rather pay a bit more for on-demand use than less for a subscription to real-debrid or a seedbox, although I hope the OP is a good guy and seeds for 24hr/100%.

Adding a duplicate torrent that someone else was downloading now no longer fails, multiple people may download the same torrent without issue.
Torrents are seeded back to a ratio of 3.0 and kept an unspecified time, for now they are being manually removed. What do you think, a week?

The primary bottleneck will be your download speed however I've had one user report achieving 10MB/s down Second is the quantity and quality of the seeds since they will impact how lo g it takes for us to get the files to zip up and send your way.

Well put.io was free for quite a while, and I'm sure you're aware in order to keep this project running money does have to come from somewhere, bandwidth and data storage cost money and the more users you'll get the more expenses you'll have, so eventually I believe you would need to either run ads or charge for subscriptions, or fund it from your own pocket and suffer the loses. Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to poop on your thread, in fact I commending you for running this kind of service.

Which method do you think would be better: Continue with a pooled quota with donations or individual pay per download approach?
Right now there is one common quota shared by all and a single donation address which adds to the pool.
Edit: added a poll.

How does the donation thing work? I've donated a couple times and the available to download fluctuates. It went for about 7 GB available one day, and I was going to download a 6 GB zip file. Then an hour later it only had 3 GB available. So I donated more to get that back up and today it's 270 MB. What gives?

The donation/payment system hasn't been automated yet I had just been setting it to a 10GB limit every few days whether the was a donation or not. I just set it to 100GB so you should have plenty to download your 7GB file. As the poll is deciding I'll likely implement per user quotas and accounts soon

I finally got the chance to implement payments...
Each user is assigned a secret that gets appended to their url and an associated address and balance. So long as you don't tell anyone your secret your account should be safe. I figured that was better than a username/password scheme, let me know if you guys disagree.
If you didn't bookmark your secret url it is saved in a cookie on your browser for 1 year, unless you turn cookies off or clear them it should reapply itself next time you visit. I recommend making sure you save your secret url though to be safe.
Don't bother brute-forcing secrets to try and access someone else's account there are 5237424972633826992021103514924158643546627273668903663173266188953814074247479 2878132321477214466514414186946040961136147476104734166288853256441430016 possible secrets provided I did my math correctly.
Pricing is 0.0005 BTC per GB with 1 confirmation required every account begins with a balance of 500 MB to get started.
Edit: Fixed price

I finally got the chance to implement payments...
cool Pricing is 0.005 BTC per GB with 1 confirmation required every account begins with a balance of 500 MB to get started.
$1.25 per GB? really? wow, that's pricey. Too expensive for me, in fact.

Is there a way to see how much funds are left?
It's located in the purple text. First line: How much data you have available to download. Second line: Your address to purchase more data. Third line (red): I was putting a few status updates there. On a whole the page CSS and layout needs a revamp but unfortunately time is not an easily obtained commodity.

Website just sufferedwent through a UI overhaul and now looks much better, it even has an official logo and favicon now rather than the boring plain white page icon
I've seen a number of deposits being made, is the service working alright for everyone? No bugs/glitches to be seen?

so far so good, but is there a way i can see my recent torrents list just by going to the main untorrent.me page instead of having to know that link "to check back later"?

As of now, no but if you just paste the .torrent link in again it'll send you to the same status page. So even if you don't save the /status/ link if you remember what you were downloading you can get back by "re-downloading" it again. <-- This will not charge you double it will recognize the file is already there and continue.

oooh! nice look! testing... one minor thing: http size header (not sure what it's called "content-size" or something) missing on zip download? you might be zipping on the fly. If that's the case:I said no word about size header again: great service! I like the decisions you made regarding privacy and payment model. only 1 thing left: pleasel stay UP!EDIT: pricing adequate, I'd say.

Service works flawlessly! I have a feature request: would it be possible to allow direct access to the files instead of zipping them? That way I could start watching right away. As it is now, I have to wait for the zip to fully download (I only have a 8 mbit connection ;-( ) Alternatively: does someone have enough script-fu to tell me how to pipe wget/curl output into unzip and achieve the same goal? EDIT: I guess piping to unzip wont work because zip file info is at the end of the zip. EDIT2: HA! Seems there is a way after all: wget -qO- https://untorrent.me/torApi/fetch/<id>?secret=<secret> | bsdtar -xvf-

Works very well for me as well.
Minor things (Chromium): When adding a new torrent, the info bar shows 100% right away. Also, can you make the "URL to check back later" text and link a bit bigger? Lastly can you make the logo a link to the home page?

Great to hear! I have a feature request: would it be possible to allow direct access to the files instead of zipping them? Possibly, but no near term plans for that. I'll take a look Also, can you make the "URL to check back later" text and link a bit bigger? Done, let me know how that is Lastly can you make the logo a link to the home page? Done

I found a problem with a partial download (single .part file in zip) or download still im progress although website says 100%.
It said 100% right away after I entered the magnet url.
I'll PM you the link to you can see which file.
EDIT: ok, it's downloaded now.
So the bug is that it says 100%.
I'm assuming this can happen when a file I want to download has already been started by someone else but is not complete yet?

Thanks for the report, that should be fixed up now. When adding a magnet link the size of the download is not known in advance so Transmission reports the progress as 0 bytes downloaded out of a total of 0 bytes, so the code sees downloaded is equal to total and reports 100% completion. The page has been updated to show "Fetching magnet metadata" instead of "0 bytes" until the magnet finishes processing and the true downloading begins. When you came back later it worked because even though your screen was no longer updating Transmission continued to download in the background.

Torrents get seeded to a ratio of 3.0 then they are periodically deleted as disk space is needed but they should be up for a week at least 2) If it's brought to our attention we may have to remove said file but otherwise we don't get involved in what our users download. That being said only download content for which you have the rights to.

Unfortunately many torrent users are looking for pirate files and warez files. That's why they use torrent to avoid copyrighted materials, is it gives your attention? because i have plan to use this service to download popular TV series, thanks

What control do you need? It sounds like you may be looking for a seedbox instead. 2) There are also many legal uses for torrents such as linux distros and downloading public domain content from archive.org are two major examples. Just fixed a bug when using the service with Firefox. Downloading a file would truncate the file name at the first space resulting in a file named "UnTorrent.Me" instead of "UnTorrent.Me - Torrent Name.zip" http://kb.mozillazine.org/Filenames_with_spaces_are_truncated_upon_downloadSorry for any confusion Firefox users may have experienced.

Is it displaying an error or just "doesn't work"? I'm on Chrome Version 44.0.2403.39 beta-m (64-bit) and it allowed me to add a magnet link without issue

I just tried adding a .torrent rather than a magnet, saw the behavior you described where it just sat there spinning. Alt+Tab to check the code/log/console/etc then suddenly it popped up and was working as normal. So it seems it's functioning it's just abnormally slow, which it shouldn't be doing. If you just leave it sit on that page for a few minutes does it also work for you?

I did that and it didn't work. However I was trying to enter a new torrent from the box on a previous torrents' status page ( https://untorrent.me/status/etc...). Now I tried from the home page ( https://untorrent.me/?secret=123) and it works from there.

I just replaced it with an aboslute url and it should be fixed now.

I remember using filezilla to download and it downloaded multiple segment through separate connections. That would hint at resuming to be possible (using http 1.1 range parameter) Next time I download something I will try and post back here with result.

I'm regularly kept wondering why the download doesn't start. Then I remember: "use the mouse to click the button", stupid EDIT: you know you have produced great software when people start requesting convenience-features like that.

Out of all the bitcoin related services I use, the response- and act-upon-time to "tickets" by bitspill is the fastest. It helps that it's a very good product too ^^ Edit: For super convenience can the cursor be ready in the text box? That way we'd only need Ctrl+V, Enter, done.

I want to know that What is maximum file capacity of your website ? means what is maximum File can be converted There is no set limit, it will vary based on free space on the server and utilization by other visitors
And how much time you can host converted file so we can download any time or Specific time period As of now there is plenty of disk space so torrents seed to 3.0 then get deleted randomly but they remain for at least 14 days.

Resuming downloads or downloading multiple segments simultaneously is not supported. It should be one single continuous transfer. PM/email me either your deposit address or secret from your url and the torrent you tried to download. After verifying the info I'll credit your account.

Unless you hadn't made any deposits in which case a new account wouldn't hurt anything.

Hey umm... Tried to download something with IDM, it failed popped up (can't download files simultaneously) it said but removed the credits from the account as well.
Resuming downloads or downloading multiple segments simultaneously is not supported. It should be one single continuous transfer. PM/email me either your deposit address or secret from your url and the torrent you tried to download. After verifying the info I'll credit your account. Checking the website now, apparently my deposit address and whole account is reset because dumb me forgot to save secret url... Try checking you're browser history or bitcoin transaction history. Unless you hadn't made any deposits in which case a new account wouldn't hurt anything. https://blockchain.info/tx/140772baa3b717833f72a4986b436e8682f3a9d07e527ef697d83f9d8f181ad417TZMhpt7iuk5ciLhzJisyQGu64FH7Zq3h Lol, stupid me. Never though that, here you go.

I don't believe that's a deposit address, they are all multi sig addresses by https://blocktrail.com and as such should start with a 3.

You are right, that is some other address; I am unable to find any address starting with "3" I am sure that I made a low deposit like 0.002 BTC as I was only downloading a file like 3 GB or something. Maybe.. https://blockchain.info/address/18CLSefNwiFSbPTTN224YgyyRZadhnZht7 ?

I never thought I would say something like this to a service provider, but I think your price of about 0.15 $/GB is too low given the service and support quality. I would continue using the service with the same volume even if you increased to 0.25 $/GB. Above that I would start thinking about alternatives. Not trying to get you to increase price, just so you know there is some air to the upside with at least one customer .

Currently the website is operating at a loss as you can see in an earlier post deposits don't come in very often. But that should change as the website becomes more known. However the website is not the only project on the server and as such it's not going anywhere anytime soon. Don't worry about it dissappearing like bitfetch yet.

The new SSL certificate isn't added yet it seems, but if you just add an exception in your browser you can get to the site fine.

Awesome, thanks for the small bonus. Also just something that has been bothering me the last couple of days , is using a magnet link twice. Generally if I was to paste and initiate a magnet link, then it downloads it on the server and charges me the fees. But sometimes, while waiting for download to complete I also end up closing the tab and not saving the secret link. Then on going to the site and pasting the link again charges me again for the amount even though the download link appears immdiately as we had already started pasted link on there before(and server has the file ready) . Something that would store the downloads we already did so it doesn't charge us again after pasting the same link would be nice.

You get charged when you download the zip not when you add the magnet so you will not be double charged for adding it again.

Due to the increasing BTC price, shouldn't the cost for downloading each GB be decreased?

BTC is currently ~$400 which equates to ~20 cents per GB, prices will not be adjusted at the current time. 0.0005 * 400 = 0.20

again? Nope. Is it stuck again? Edit: Fixed it, any torrent that was added while it was full was paused by the daemon so I had to tell them all to resume otherwise they just sat there idling.

That was probably the case here. Submitted a magnet link that was likely submitted before, so it was probably in the queue idling. Thanks for taking a look so quickly! It resumed.

What is the big deal ? You could just download the torrent and zip it. Or does this enable you to download a zip files strait without needing torrents ? If that is the case then ignore what I said.

It's so you do not need to install a torrent client yourself, just enter the link to a .torrent file and get a .zip file with all the files in return
