Seemingly a stupid question: but what miner can we use to mine for this coin? Can we use our BitCoin hardware miners for this?
Check here:
https://kobo.suprnova.cc/index.php?page=gettingstarted

Another issue:

./minerd -a x15 -t 6 -s 4 -o stratum+tcp://kobo.suprnova.cc:5057 -u drazha.worker -p worker
[2015-02-04 13:41:39] Starting Stratum on stratum+tcp://kobo.suprnova.cc:5057
[2015-02-04 13:41:39] 6 miner threads started, using 'x15' algorithm.
[2015-02-04 13:41:39] Binding thread 2 to cpu 0
[2015-02-04 13:41:39] Binding thread 4 to cpu 0
[2015-02-04 13:41:39] Binding thread 1 to cpu 1
[2015-02-04 13:41:39] Binding thread 3 to cpu 1
[2015-02-04 13:41:39] Binding thread 0 to cpu 0
[2015-02-04 13:41:39] Binding thread 5 to cpu 1
[2015-02-04 13:41:41] Stratum connection failed: Failed to connect to kobo.suprnova.cc port 5057: Connection refused
[2015-02-04 13:41:41] ...retry after 10 seconds

Seems nothing is working on port 5057?

Dude, the coin isn't launched yet...  Grin

Also, for sgminer, there are more than one editions. Most of them working with the argument "-k bitblock" or "-algorithm bitblock"
Download:
https://www.nicehash.com/index.jsp?p=software
Yes, I use -k bitblock. Or "alogrithm" : "bitblock" when I'm using a conf file.

Last night I had a very strange dream: I was on Kobocoin's World Conference and Thetribesman was the speaker. Forum was full of geeks and investors.

I don't remember what he was talking about, but he seems serious and excited  Cheesy

Update:

Exchanges where KOBO can be traded soon after launch:
https://btcpool.exchange/
https://yobit.net/

I've also contacted the other exchanges.

Unfortunately the Android wallet will not be available for launch (it's being rebuilt). I'm hoping it'll be available from Wednesday 11th Feb (or sooner). This doesn't affect PoW. Apologies to anyone who was hoping to use the Android wallet on launch. I was hoping to be using one, but these things happen.

I've also submitted the code for re-verification by Coins Source. I'm hoping to hear back from them later today.

I've been in touch with Coins Source regarding re-verification. They've said that they don't re-check the code but I can get a community member to do this. I'm happy for a community member to check the code (as everyone will be able to do at launch), but I'm not prepared to release the source code before launch.

The new block explorer still hasn't come online yet. I'm hoping it'll be online later today.

True... I live in Spain and never remember in UK is 1 hour more :p

In other order of things... Best way of GPU mining? I tried pool's help way and seems it's not working well. CPU mining connects perfectly (in the way is not allowed yet)

I haven't yet tried the pool software so I can't really comment. I use sgminer 5.1.

It's working fine for me, aside from the not actually mining part (this is on a rig that's even crappier than Bubba  Wink ):

Code:
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
sgminer.exe -k bitblock -o stratum+tcp://kobo.suprnova.cc:5057 -u xxx -p xxx -I xx --worksize 64 -g x --no-submit-stale

Crappier than Bubba? You sure? I'm just praying Bubba has 10 blocks worth of mining left in him.

Haha.  Well, the Belafonte (that's what she's called) still runs, but her hashrate is pretty modest at the best of times.

Now that GPU mining has more or less jumped the shark, I like how every time there's a launch the veterans haul out their old warhorses for one last charge into battle.  It lends the whole thing a dramatic dignity that very nearly makes up for the lack of profit....
