hey, what's news in R&D of geoproject? when will we collect geo on our lambos?  Cheesy
Just got a few more items in the backend to sort out before the beta testing will be opened up to select members of the community.

Great !

How will you choose the people who will be part of the beta testing?

We were able to improve upon the automation for dropping PoL $GEO onto the map.  Now that things have been running along smoothly, we've upped the drops to place stacks of 5 GeoCoins onto the map!  This will help us achieve our goal of adding roughly 50,000 GEO per year.

A few key members of the Ubiq Community have already offered there assistance.  I will be organizing it through the #geo channel found on the Ubiq Community Discord chat.  If you are interested in participating feel free to join the community in advance to get more familiar.  https://discordapp.com/invite/HF6vEGF

there will be any additional interesting features to dropping and collecting geocoins? for instance, a person who has coin and wishes drop it can input the additional text, maybe an advertisement, any site or address of a shop, to this coin and then this text info can be depicted on a map until this coin is taken

Yes we already offer the ability to add your comment to a dropped GeoCoin on the map!

does anyone from the geo team have contacts with bittrex? this exchange started unexpectedly to delist different projects without any notification of teams and explanation. this is the main platform for the geo project so that to support a constant communication with bittrex won't be an extra measure

We have been in contact with the Bittrex team in the past via their Slack channel, they assisted us with our blockchain upgrade back in January of this year when we migrated over to the Ubiq Network.

Some exciting news from the Ubiq Developers regarding the new Proof-of-Work algorithm called Ubqhash.  Be sure to read the blog article to learn up on the governance process and how it dictated innovation.

a little recommendation in case you find it helpful, if you have additional time or human resources in your project to connect with bittrex and make sure about position of your coin. because many projects, for instance, lomocoin etc are going to be delisted without any beforehand warning or notification of developers. but bittrex is the only market place for geo so far

Here is a great article written by Nik Patel @cointradernik on Twitter.  He provides a very detailed breakdown of the GeoCoin project and provides a wealth of analytics and tangible measures.  Thanks again Nik for your detailed report!  Be sure to check out his other work.  Smiley

exciting news! thought about such an interesting feature as a possibility for a holder of geo coins to drop himself additional coins in a near proximity of him and take them, i.e. a person owns 100 geocoins, POS system has some inflation, let's assume 5% yearly, then it gives a right to an owner to drop coins, for example, in a radius of 100 meters near him and grab them, thus this person has 105 geocoins within a year. this feature can incentivize people to invest, hold and generate the additional financial gains. because now as I understood that a system would drop coins chaotically on a map and a person wouldn't be involved in a process of a distribution management of new coins. taking into account that this project has an awesome small supply of coins these coins can be considered as something more than a common crypto but as fungible assets and a geocoin will be able to soar to the all-time highs. I like this project!

then such approach as placing on a map only integer (whole) number of geocoins will be great for its value, not 0,5 geo or 0,3 geo. in this case people would perceive this coin as more valuable, as a real gem

The users will be able to drop the GEO wherever they please.  There is no limiting factor of 100 meter radius at this point in time.

Also there is no POS mechanism for GeoCoin so the only inflation to the coin supply with be done through dropping coins onto the map for others to pickup.  The process is not designed as a chaotic one, we allow people to drop magnets onto the map to attract GEO to nearby locations.  This helps prevent GEO from being dropped randomly on the map in the middle of nowhere.

Yes we plan to limit GEO drops to require at least 1 GEO as opposed to allowing fractions of a GEO.  This will help raise the incentive for people to go out and collect them, and it also simplifies the number of GEO spread out across the world to a more manageable amount.

Geocoin would be a platform like Aircoin for distributing tokens in  ground-breaking Augmented Reality (AR) app.

Here is another detailed article put together by Kris Lester from the Ubiq Community.  Kris goes in great detail to explain Ubiq's Monetary Policy and discusses the Inflation Rate in comparison to Bitcoin!
