Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

What is the relationship between UBIQ and GEO? Is it just a partnership? I recognized this coin on UBIQtwitters because GEO has always been repeatedly mentioned

What happend 2 weeks ago was very unexpected imo as market did not get any additional information about the swap or outlook on the future of the project. The project itself is undervalued, but I am not surprised that people who bought at 20$ and see their btc's vanish decide to jump with whatever they have left; after all we are a week away and we still know nothing about specification of the new blockchain.

Since Bittrex doesen't accept new registrations, is it better to leave the coins on cryptopia or put the on a desktop wallet?

Thank you!

A week ago (8th January) Weifa (developer) sent a message on discord -

Hey everyone, sorry for my absense it has proven to be a very busy Holiday Season and New Year and I'm busy getting things organized for the upcoming blockchain upgrade.
so to try and answer some of your questions in no particular order.
I'm discussing with the Cryptopia devs to try and get their confirmation.  They have been very helpful so far and I'm hopeful they will also be assisting with the swap.  Any people who have balances on Cryptopia currently I'd keep them there for now.
Bittrex has confirmed their support of the upcoming blockchain upgrade, scheduled for January 25th 2018.  The details are described in the following post: https://support.bittrex.com/hc/en-us/articles/115003177652-Support-for-the-GeoCoin-GEO-blockchain-upgrade
Some people have asked about collecting GEO from the map.  Currently we are under development, so you will need to wait until after the blockchain upgrade has occurred.
We need to do a lot of work, replacing the wallet backend is priority to handle the new GEO ERC20 tokens.  Once that is fully setup, we will push for launching the new MapBox interface.
In terms of the GEO blockchain upgrade, we are doing a 1:1 exchange of GEO:GEO.  Often people ask me if they will be getting UBQ instead of GEO, which is not the case.  All the GEO balances will be taken and migrated to the Ubiq Network as GEO tokens.
thank you all for your interest and support of the GeoCoin project, these are truly exciting times

I bolded out a part about cryptopia, seems like we should keep them there for now.

They see that the price was high and it's decreasing, so they sell. You know, a majority of traders don't care about the projects.

I have seen quite a few 5-10 BTC buys over the last few days, accumulation is strong currently. Price isn't dumping that much compared to everything else at the moment.

I'm one of those who bought 6 BTC worth of GEO at 0.00061 BTC and 8 BTC worth of GEO at 0.0018 BTC. (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=923995.msg23259618#msg23259618)
I'm ready to buy up to 20/10 more BTC if the price falls to 0.0003/0.0004 BTC level.
As I already said in the past I believe in this project, it has so much great potential.

It sounds like you may have invested in an alternative project/ICO as there is currently no GEO erc20 token in existence and therefore cannot exist in a wallet at this point in time.  The current GEO blockchain will be migrated over to the Ubiq Network starting on January 25th 2018.  If you're interested in purchasing some GEO, you can buy/sell currently on Bittrex, Cryptopia and YoBit exchanges.  Hope that helps you sort out your confusion.

I've just sent a tweet out to YoBit as they have not responded to my recent support ticket.  We'll see if we hear back, but we recommend users start migrating their balances over to Bittrex or Cryptopia to avoid the risk of missing the swap.  Please like and retweet to get more attention from YoBit  Smiley
