It's still early to say but form a few conversations the main reaction of the people is: "with what right did they seize 10% of the savings?". I don't see why people think that this is different from taxation and inflation though.
As for the effect. I have no idea.

So, after Cyprus people are not talking about pulling their money from the bank? Is the opinion about Bitcoin still the same - that it's more risky than the banks? Have you heard anything new about the adventures of the TEM people?  |

Haven't heard anything yet, but people are a bit anxious, bank's headquarters were opened on Monday and that wasn't good cause yesterday was like a national holiday for us!!! MediaSCAMS and PoliticianSCAMS keep us in the dark... Apart from these, Im trying to buy a few bitcoins but I cant, dont know how  I created my wallet in Blockchain but what after this? I dont wanna be scammed and pay 100€ per coin Can you help a newbie please? |

i search many companies that produce asic and yes i also think is the future.....anyway.. i bought from bfl and asked my money back after 6 months no device yet....

FYI: The bank of Cyprus (in Greece) has disabled its e-banking system in Greece so it's hard to send SEPA to Bitstamp from that bank right now.

I had problems (Eforia) when wiring the money to Japan so
I guess I'll have problems when I wire them back as well
any experiences you would like to share?

What problems did you have? Isn't it legal to wire money anywhere you want? Unless it was a huge amount and you couldn't justify it of course. I haven't wired money TO MtGox, but I tried to wire them back to Alpha Bank and still haven't found a way of doing it. If anyone has an experience to share, please do! |

Although I haven't done it, their FAQ states that money is withdrawn from their account in Poland (where you should have sent the money NOT Japan) So it's just an ordinary transfer INSIDE EU. Speak with your accountant if you want to be 100% legal and declare it as "Income from abroad" in which case you'll be taxed on it by 26% or sth smaller if you're an employee.
