What's the news from Greece, given the Cyprus banking events?

What effect do you think it will have in your country?

It's still early to say but form a few conversations the main reaction of the people is: "with what right did they seize 10% of the savings?". I don't see why people think that this is different from taxation and inflation though.

As for the effect. I have no idea.

So, after Cyprus people are not talking about pulling their money from the bank?

Is the opinion about Bitcoin still the same - that it's more risky than the banks?

Have you heard anything new about the adventures of the TEM people?  Cheesy

FYI: The bank of Cyprus (in Greece) has disabled its e-banking system in Greece so it's hard to send SEPA to Bitstamp from that bank right now.

Hey Guys

Has anyone found a way to declare the winnings from MtGox in Greece?
I had problems (Eforia) when wiring the money to Japan so
I guess I'll have problems when I wire them back as well
any experiences you would like to share?

What problems did you have? Isn't it legal to wire money anywhere you want? Unless it was a huge amount and you couldn't justify it of course.

I haven't wired money TO MtGox, but I tried to wire them back to Alpha Bank and still haven't found a way of doing it. If anyone has an experience to share, please do!

Although I haven't done it, their FAQ states that money is withdrawn from their account in Poland (where you should have sent the money NOT Japan)
So it's just an ordinary transfer INSIDE EU.
Speak with your accountant if you want to be 100% legal and declare it as "Income from abroad" in which case you'll be taxed on it by 26% or sth smaller if you're an employee.

QUOTING from
https://support.mtgox.com/entries/20490576-Withdrawals-and-Deposits

Withdrawals

In order to make Euro withdrawals you need to have a "verified" or "trusted" account status. Please visit https://mtgox.com/forms/verification to apply.
All funds will be send through our Polish account and will involve the following fees:
- Withdrawals below 10€ are not possible
- Withdrawals come with a 1% fee with minimum of 5.5 PLN
As is standard for SEPA customers should expect a 1 to 5 working day delay from the time the withdrawal is initiated until seeing funds arrive in your personal bank account.

It says Bitcoin is the end of Banks and the end of the Euro,
the article is nothing but a summary of simple blogposts
explaining bitcoin in simple words.

Although impressive as an image, it's a non-reliable, far-right-wing,
very small newspaper, usually selling around 1500 newspapers daily
and 2500 on Sunday.

Rough translation:
Quote
Bitcoin, the end of the Euro and the banks.
Made by an expert in 2009 known as Satoshi Nakamoto
How does it work and why has it's value risen to $146 compared to $20 during the past year.
The new gold or a "virtual" bubble?
We'll never return to the drachma (probably meaning we'll go to Bitcoins instead)

EDIT: just saw that I replied a bit late.
