The difficulty and hashrate is too low, so, I don't think that BQC will have any pool soon...

When an exchange announces support, hashrate will go up.
So we need an exchange that says "if diff > x we launch BBQ trade".

I can add BBQ once I'm done adding LTC and PPC to my pool.

That's good news. BBQcoin is ready to go for a pool and then next being put on an exchange. This coin has been around for a while and runs will no problems and do have a mining base at the moment.

Check out the trading section on the bbqcoin forums.

It is new and in beta but might be a good place to start, I know a few people that are looking to buy some serious amount of BQC.

Here is a download for the current blockchain for BBQcoin.

This is for people that don't want to bother to wait for the chain to download.

http://www.filedropper.com/bbqcoinblockchain

Any problems, let me know.

Is this normal? i'm new to soloing

My guess is, from your hashrates, that you aren't running cgminer with the --scrypt flag, which you need to.  BBQCoin, like Litecoin, is based on the scrypt algorithm.  Essentially your blocks are being rejected because your miner is doing the wrong kind of work.

make a .bat file and put it in the same folder as cgminer.exe and name it something like launchBBQSolo.bat

in the file put something to this effect:

Code:
cgminer --scrypt -o localhost:19323 -u username -p password --shaders 2048 --intensity 12 --worksize 256 -g 1

Change the shaders to the amount of shaders your GPU has. And you can mess with the intensity as well but I found 12 works best if you want to use your computer while mining.

Save it as a .bat, not a .txt file.

Then just double click that .bat file to start mining. With BBQ you will still probably get a few rejects, I know that's what happens with me.  I think it's because of the low hash rate and low  difficulty.

So I poked around with solo mining BBQcoin a bit, as I've never tried solo mining any coin before, and I found that almost every block that I found is listed in the transaction log as "generated but not accepted" with 0 confirmations.  I've also found that the BBQ client runs with 8-11 peer connections if I am not solo mining, but drops to 0-1 connections once I start mining.  Can anyone explain what is going on?

Why do I find so many blocks, but my computer seems to ignore most of them?

That's as expected, nothing wrong.

So glad that you have been able to get solo mining.

This is such a nice coin to solo mine right now but enjoy it while it lasts.

In the next month or so BBQcoin will be going on a pool and after than an exchange.
