Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

BBQ is being implemented into one of the exchanges as we speak. Get to hoarding!

Which exchange?  When?

Charlie Kelly: I'm pleading the 5th.  The Attorney: I would advise you do that.  Charlie Kelly: I'll take that advice under cooperation, alright? Now, let's say you and I go toe-to-toe on bird law and see who comes out the victor?  The Attorney: You know, I don't think I'm going to do anything close to that and I can clearly see you know nothing about the law.

How can there be an exchange when nobody can even download the blockchain?

I've been trying for like 2 weeks now...

Multipool - Always mine the most profitable coin - Scrypt, X11 or SHA-256!

The quickest way is to download the blockchain here: http://www.filedropper.com/bbqcoinblockchain

This will get you partially there, and then you only have to download like the last week's worth.

I'm not having any trouble connecting now.  I was about a month or so ago, but now there appears to be enough people, that I've installed the client on several different rigs, and they all connect pretty easily.  So try that, and see if it helps.

I have the client running on one of my rigs, just to support the network.

Is anyone able to solo mine this coin with a low hash rate, e.g., 1 GPU?

I can run the client, and point cgminer to it successfully, but everytime cgminer reports an accepted share, the client drops all 8 peer connections for a minute (they slowly return).  No transaction ever shows up on the client.  This has happened maybe a dozen times.

I guess I'm giving up on this coin.

The hash rate has increased a lot in the past couple days, so you may want to wait until there is a pool which should hopefully be soon.

The blockchain does download, you just need to leave the client open for at least 5 mins at the moment to get connections. A pool is the first major development that we need, to get the network hash even higher.

I am offering a 25,000 BQC bounty to the first person to create and run a BBQcoin pool.

If you didn't know, I run bbqcoin.org, which started as an information only site to get people interested in this coin again, a forum has been added aswell with a trade section.

What is the formula to calculate the network hashrate?

Hi guys,
Can't seem to get any active connections on my client, so the block chain isn't downloading, which means I can't solo mine :/
If anyone could send me a few BBQcoin until I get it working, that would be awesome Cheesy

There are close to 15m bqc, valued at 1k/btc would give a market cap of 15,000 btc, which is higher than every coin below namecoin, put it another way, 15k btc is about the market cap of devcoin, novacoin, terracoin and freicoin combined.

Well it's your money so if you want to throw it away nobody can stop you.

Nonsense.
Value of LTC is now 0.02xxx BTC, value of NMC is now 0.04xxx BTC,

Nothing wrong with a 0.001xxx value for BQC, it's actually very low for an (currently) ASIC proof Scryptcoin.
