Who pays the escrow fee? It's depend on the transaction agreement. Discuss it with your seller or buyer. But in most cases, the buyer pays the fee.

The usual fee is around 1%, there are a few trusted escrow who does free escrow. It all depends on which service you trust, the fees vary based on their quality of service. You can negotiate with your buyer and choose who pay the fees.

Everyone is right about normally around 1.  I would say it varies on how much effort it takes the escrow and time needed for.

Some escrows offer free escrow but you should always tip them for doing a free service for you. And either buyer or the seller can pay the fee if you choose a paid escrow, it should be decided prior to trade that who pays the fee.

There are lots of free escrow here.

The buyer or the seller pays for it.

But it usually looks better if the seller pays.

Here is an Updated Daily Escrow list : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=855778.0
Some of them take fees , some of them take tips and some are doing it for free . Now for who pays the fees it depends with who you are trading , the buyer and the seller need to settle things up between each other and decide who is going to pay the fees .

I would.  Pay escrow 1% at roughly $2 to secure $225 at current rates.  I'd do that 10 out of 10 times.

Better safe than sorry.
