It's alright Bitmain, a time will come when the price of coins rises, and you will see competition again. People don't forget.

They are too busy price-raping customers by selling "brand new" S5's for $378 each to give a shit about this project.
Time to give up on it.
Yet another lie and broken promise from Bitmain.
Think I'm going to take my S2 out to the gun range next weekend and fire off some .223 rounds into it...

I am surprised they haven't released this product because a few pages back they posted a few photos. Maybe they didn't think it would sell.

If you're getting rid of the S2 anyways, I might know a guy that would buy it - contingent on it not being riddled with bulletholes.

I have two of them, any idea on pricing?

Maybe if Bitmain is not going upgrades for the S2, we can see if someone else is will to do them with Bitmain's blessing of course cause the chips would need to be bought from them.

Bitmain, pleeaase... I think silence speaks for it's self sometimes. This is one of those times. I could be wrong and later they say something. But does not really seem to be a priority, I think the thread shows this much. Which I can understand some reasons for it.

The best use I can think of for my dormant S2 is to use the power supply for a S5 or S7.

Rude! That's all I have to say to Bitmain. Money hungry Pigs! Great products for the most part but selling PreMined equipment is just uncool! We're fools if we don't believe they have the tech but choose to upgrade their own farms first, then try and sell them as S7's. May be wrong but the silence would tell anyone that this is the course. Don't ever again advertise a product you don't intend to ship, not just once but twice.

Honestly I would sell it whal it still has value. Either buy btc or a new miner. The longer you wait for upgrade kit the lower the miner will be worth. So good deal... not really. But this has been quiet so long I would go selling route vs waiting and hoping for something that might not come.

Besides, S2 PSU's were shit and tend to get weak after a while, mine wouldn't maintain all hashing boards after many months. Better off selling the miner whole, or the PSU off separately and buying a real PSU for the S5/S7.

I'd give $100 shipped for an S2. Just throwing that out there.
On the PSUs, I got the S2 Kit and built my own case for it so it's been running on a DPS2K. But last week I helped a guy that had bought an S2 second-hand that dies after about five minutes running all boards. We ended up downclocking it to about 185MHz before the PSU could keep up with the power draw. If you only need something to run 800W or less, the 1000W PSU in one of those would probably do okay but for how long if it's already been run at 100% for most of a year?

I already gave up waiting for the upgrade. I've already retired the miner and will probably put it in storage with my retired S1's. Even with my cheapish power at 8cents/kwh, it would only clear $10/month. I figure shipping would be too costly and time consuming. Maybe I could ship everything minus the case? I haven't had any issues with the psu. I ran it less than 1 year. I think 9-10 months??
One of the cards has a faulty temp sensor and 1 card seems to fail if it gets to hot(maybe the slot tho), you can reinsert the card while running and it starts working again. I also have trouble getting it to boot. I think it's the microsd card slot pins causing the issue.

Look into shipping entire thing. If you ship all the parts you will have a mess, or a lot in of time making packing. Sell and have buyer pay shipping. I'm willing to bet you get more then you think. Can buy BTC direct or put twords new machine.
