They already gave us a coupons for buying S4s.
...so it should stand to reason that they can find out which former customers let all those S4 coupons lapse.

...so it should stand to reason that they can find out which former customers let all those S4 coupons lapse. When I've asked about lapsed coupons they were more than anxious to sell me something that moment for a deal rather than reissue new coupons. Very excitedly through email they only wanted to know how many and when and replies ceased after asking about coupons.

With the announcement of the new Bitmain BM1385 chips it could be possible for some upgraded boards for the S2. Depends on what interface the new boards take. I thought I heard them comment they would like to get back to the pci-e backplane.

The interface of the boards for S2 upgrade kits depends just on BITMAIN's decision to keep their word about that upgrade kits. I do think so.

Each 1000 GH/s of UMISOO and ANTS2 can be redeemed for one unit of Antminer S2 physical hardware. The handling and packaging fee for each unit is set at USD $50 per machine, and the cost to ship each machine to Shenzhen is USD $65. Shipping costs from Shenzhen to final destination will be calculated by shipping company rates. So this is the semi-official S2 upgrade kits dismissal. Game over. Now we can use our S2s as a dryer for mashrooms, for example...

Bitmain themselves brought it back by showing off some BM1384 prototype boards this spring and getting people's hopes up. Of course they slipped some details, some potential timelines, and then apparently dropped the whole thing without a word.

Maybe they will try again with the new BM1385 Chips but like the last one that may never see public release and only be sold to private farms

yep, not a first company to do it too (cough-KNC-cough). I also think that some people started buying used S2 in anticipation, so it could have been a double whammy. I almost bought one. S2 probably did spectacularly in some places with very low electricity.

I just turned my kit build off a couple months ago. I didn't get in anywhere near early on 'em and still ran it for a year.
I bought a second, a stock unit, for the museum earlier this year. I'd have bought a third to upgrade if the kits hadn't evaporated.
