I have also noticed my wallet was wasting a lot of CPU cycles constantly generating POS blocks and then throwing them away. It should not even try to do that until the POS block depth is reached.
You can disable in config file.

What is the setting, and can it continue POW mining?

In the config file add the following line and then restart or start your wallet,

staking=0

This will turn staking off until you set staking=1 in the config file.

You can continue PoW mining yes, you can turn this off via conf as well with, this next command could be wrong but here it is, gen=0

I was really hoping to see that some people were up and running this coin again, have mined it since day one, had over a billion of these things until split into, xversion of the coin, then i was on vacation, and did not get home in time for the swap, but I did manage to save several millions.
I hope to see this up and running smoothly again, I would hate to see all the rest of my coins on bleutrade just go away to nothing as well.

Gonna give this solution a try..and hope it works...Have a Great Day!!!

Sorry, about the new account I lost my other one and every time I try to reset my password it just says you must try again in 45 seconds...so i just quit trying and made this new one.

+1 to burn for me as well...no use in keeping lost coins, or stolen coins, whichever the case may be, especially if it is gonna kill the coins we have, not to mention it will actually increase the value of the ones we have so actually +1000 for me..lol.

Ok, here's a WORKING Wallet with my peers.dat file from (2014-current). Have been faithfully syncing the wallet monthly.

https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B0PgyhroZFsEQm5NSmRMeHBNb3M

Many Thanks to CryptoUnited for the adnode- it's in the Htmlcoin.conf file.

go to your appdata folder for html5 and create a file named Htmlcoin.conf then paste this into it then save.

addnode=www.cryptounited.io

You should be able to get 12-14 connections on a normal day.

I'm still here, and have never sold a single h5oshi.

Best wishes from the Old HTML5COIN Team!

Here guys, if your wallet does not connect try replacing the peer.dat file, it worked for 2 of my wallets that haven"t been connected in a while, this seems to be the main chain w/o the cryptsy .dat chain.

So since everyone seems to agree on burning the cryptsy forked coins, and there is no way to redistribute them anyway. I say lets do it Smiley

P.S. The fork and new wallet are being tested as well, this was from Amando!

Not sure yet, but changes should be: 1 sec blocks will be 15 sec blocks and tx conf will go from 6 to almost 200.

We have also requested to cut the block coin max at 50b, set subsidy to 0, and start stake early as its only 1% ann, the cryptsy .dat burning are inc as well its around 20-30b html5 coins I think, out of the total 41b, lets see how this goes Smiley

https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/htmlcoin/#markets

Day 3 of 10000$ to 20000$ to 30000$ daily volume! also check the graph guys Smiley

The coin is almost 3 years old! As soon as the wallet is ready, we should try to get a few more exchanges, and we can start working on a year 3 bounty list once again, so if anyone knows anyone, or has connections post services and prices, or just list what this project needs and everyone can keep an eye out Smiley

What wallet update, and what is this about a fork? I don't want to see all my coins disappear.

It will probably most likely be a soft fork, everyone's coins should still be usable. We did this with HYPER's new wallet to fix an issue with the stake rate.

Shouldn't the community have some say as to what happens with this coin. I myself am most definitely not in favor of it going POS before it's time. I have mined BILLIONS of these so sure I can stake in huge way but really what is the point of POS coin, it has no point.

PoS enables the every day user to mine a currency and helps insure the blockchains success. When PoW becomes too much of a loss people stop mining it and when it stops getting mined it dies. PoS encourages users to keep their wallets open and confirming new blocks so the chain doesn't die.

Honestly, if the community cared about this coin they would have done more to help it. Now that things are getting done they want to voice up and give their opinions on where it needs to go. When people expect others to carry the load this is what you get.

Instead of complaining, you should really be thanking these guys, because the coin is set to be de-listed on Bleutrade the biggest "HTML5" supporting exchange, as well as just fade into the sunset if someone didn't act on the situation. This will make your coin much more valuable and should only help all of us who hold it. The only coins being burnt are the ones that were lost/stolen on cryptsy, to the best of my understanding, from what I have read on the bleutrade site.
Anyways...I definitely appreciate what they are doing here myself. HTML5 was the very first coin i learned to mine on, and I started mining at launch when it started being mined with asic scrypt miners. So thanks guys!!!! Wink

Once the new wallet software is finished I will be adding it to my upcoming game http://dkv2.com which will provide in itself a built in exchange where HTML5 can be traded between players.

The game is currently in beta and any accounts made before it goes live will be reset. The official launch date is June 8, 2017 unless delays happen.

Hopefully this helps kick HTML5 off into a new era and into a much brighter future. This can't be done alone though, it is up to everyone to make sure this coin goes places.

Collaboration with HYPER and Goldpieces could also be a possibility. Three gaming currencies all working together for the greater benefit of each would be outstanding.

Asking for a coin to continue to have POW is not complaining. It was born as a hybrid coin so why not have both?

If the pos starts doesn't mean pow ends, this coin will always be a gen2 X15 hybrid pow/pos Smiley and again those where requests, doesn't mean they will all be implemented.

P.S. When the new wallet is ready, I will update the first page of the ann Smiley
