LINUX manual -COMPILE the WALLETd in the CLOUD

now also with details for ECASH coin: (posting #41)
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=460178.msg10745416#msg10745416

* your wallet in the cloud, 24/7 on
* just buy yourself a VPS droplet - for only 5$/month:
* digital ocean http://tiny.cc/digocean NL USA Singapur
* Debian 7 (or Ubuntu 14 but then you'd support the Unity spyware)

* you can also run other tools like block explorer, CPU-miner, etc.
* for an easy start into the linux world; safer - less NSA backdoors?

* for future coinstarts: already have a wallet when windows user don't have a wallet yet
* a 2nd machine to test insecure wallets which you do not 100% trust.

* a walletd uses ~ 1% cpu power, you can have many on one VPS

Any hint to improve the manual is highly appreciated.

Anybody think the price is at the bottom on Bittrex right now?

I mostly look at the marketcap and potential for increases, I think it is likely to go much higher over the 30 days of 8% interest, and then totally unknown once we switch into the 10k-20k staking. Marketcap of 9k-10k for a known dev coin is dirt cheap, but just set low orders if you think anyone else will dump. Has a catchy name too, E-MONEY, ECASH, I like it. -- It was at 8k sats and rising on the old blockchain (this is infinitely better now), ideally we return to that in the future and go higher, but anything can happen I guess.

Is this not goin up the price?

You have made me chuckle all i have seen from you on these 2 threads are, when is the price going up!? Or is is going to pump etc No one here is part of the Ecash pump group chances are the price is going to keep falling because seems people just want to dump constantly which is a shame the price has lost 2/3 from my buy in which is great news....

Technically yes. It is the first step to have a properly working coin. Imagine adding to that a management team with vision, strategy and business plans.

I don't think it is a matter of hiring someone. A management team needs to be someone with passion for something and does not matter to initially put in effort to achieve his passion with rewards later on. It would typically be 1-3 community members that get together with a shared vision and go for it. A coin is just the technical enabler of achieving the vision and the coin is either an asset in the process or a tender instrument to make the plans work. The coin specs must compliment the vision and business objectives, e.g. transferring value that is not time sensitive can have coin specs of 10 min block time because block time is not a major issue. Retail use at point of sale is time sensitive and needs super fast transactions and sub 1 minute block times with only a few confirmations.

Few people have the appetite though to commit to something like this and really be committed or most lack the skills and have no business savvy, hence 99.99999999999999% of coins being just a fad that starts and ends quickly thereafter. Managing a coin needs proper business skills and can be compared to running a company. Evidence of this is the absolute commitment and passion displayed by the 2-3 coins that are actually getting somewhere at the moment.

The original dev's lack of willingness to still be involved is an indication that he does not have the passion for what he wanted to do here. This means that he probably had alternative motives for launching the coin whatever that may have been. He has been handed a perfectly working coin but he walked away, probably to start a new coin (with a premine  Roll Eyes )

No big loss. If the coin does well down the road I will certainly share the information widely, and have already talked to quite a few people about it. A lot of people I think are staking now and happy with a solid staking coin. I appreciate the work of Igotspots and such, so I am holding and staking, and will support the coin however I can.
